16: Play Nice You Two

"Fuck no."

Kirishima stood there in shock, supporting a very injured Midoriya. He had been told all about Kyo since Uraraka and Tsuyu encountered him at the training camp but somehow the image he had of the 15 year old's personality was still that cute boy who healed him in the mall. So when his first response was to swear, Kirishima didn't quite know how to react. 

"You're...not going to heal him?" The red haired hero student asked again. Kyo nodded, taking another drink from the thermos in his hand. He had found out how the coffee maker in the teacher's dorm worked and according to Aizawa it had been chaos ever since. Kyo's quirk made him sleepy so now there was more caffeine in his bloodstream on a regular basis then blood. 

"That fucker tried to manipulate me into thinking he was the good guy once. Let his bones stay broken or wait till Recovery Girl gets here and sleep through the rest of school for all I care." The former villain said simply. 

"He what?!" Kirishima said, looking between the two in shock. Even in his injured state it seemed as though Midoriya understood what Kyo was talking about. He looked at the ground, face full of guilt. "I healed your mentor, aren't you happy now? All Might could come out of retirement and you can fanboy over him again. I've done what you wanted me to get the fuck out of here.". 

"Technically you can't tell him to leave, this is Recovery Girl's office." "Actually, I was promoted to 'nurse in training' last month so I can now." 

"And you still only read at an 8th grade level.".

Everyone turned around to see a very annoyed looking Recovery Girl standing in the doorway. "I'll heal Midoriya. Kirishima, head back to class. Kyo, go study until the off duty teacher comes in here to teach you.". Begrudgingly, Kyo walked back into the actual office portion of the nurse's office but not before glaring at Midoriya. 

"What did you do to get him to hate you so much, young man?" Recovery Girl said, a light scolding in her voice. Midoriya sighed as she set his arms straight again. "I proposed we recapture him to use his quirk to heal All Might's injuries.".  

Recovery Girl tutted and shook her head disapprovingly. "You may not know, since your quirk is so different, but healing quirks give you a unique mindset. You want to help people and heal them but at the same time when people start seeing you as nothing more than a piece of medical equipment rather than a person it hurts. I'm sure it is the same for him.". The school nurse had a sad smile on her face that made Midoriya realize something. 

The only reason they could do any of what they were doing now was because of her. And, if he was being honest, she was old. But she probably felt pressured into not retiring so U.A could continue to be the school it had been. He really had to convince Kyo to work for the right side now.

"I promise I just woke up from a nightmare, I didn't think Midnight was going to do anything." Kyo insisted. Aizawa gave him a disapproving look. 

"I stayed up with you for hours and you still lie to me? Kyo, there's no shame in admitting it, she wont be insulted or anything we just need to submit a report to your counselor-" 

"I don't give a shit about Midnight being insulted!" The teenager shouted, his anger boiling over as it tended to around Aizawa. "I don't want to think about that place ever again stop trying to bring shit up! I'm past that!". 

The teacher just sighed. It was obvious what had happened. Kyo had a panic attack and his body reverted to what he had done at the brothel. They couldn't just let him go one covering up the fact that part of him existed. Hell, it probably always would. But they couldn't let him suffer like that, he needed coping strategies.
