It had been 8 days since the incident and although the meeting had taken place days ago the outcome still felt unsure. There was no backing down now though as earlier that morning Kyo had woken up.
He had been lucid the moment he awoke and now had to be filled in on everything that had happened after he passed out that night. It was Tsukauchi's job to do that.
The detective sat on a chair next to the 15 year old's hospital bed and tried to take in every detail. His skin was pale and a little sickly looking, but much better than it had been while he was asleep. All his bruises and injuries from that night had since healed up. They had decided for quirk suppressing handcuffs since they no longer knew what he was capable of. If he could bring people back to life he might be able to cause pain or even death with his quirk. He was also wearing a mask to prevent blowing or giving any kisses since that was how his quirk activated in the first place.
"You experienced what we call a 'quirk evolution event'. Do you know what that means?" Tsukauchi probed. Kyo shook his head, then stopped.
"It means my quirk changed or evolved, right?" The detective nodded "I remember a bit of that.". The detective gestured for him to continue. "After All Might apologized I just-" His eyes were glossy with unfallen tears "I couldn't understand it. When I was captured and they tried to rehabilitate me, not once did someone apologize for not saving me. No one owned up to not helping. I didn't realize that I wanted that apology until he said it. Then I couldn't stand the idea of him dying and my skin just started glowing.". Kyo looked to the floor with a pained expression "I probably just healed the girl with the crushed leg though, didn't I?".
He didn't know. Kyo had no idea that All Might was alive or Toga. "You healed more than just that." The detective said slowly, trying not to overwhelm the boy "You resuscitated All Might along with Toga Himiko.". He let the words sit there for a moment.
Surprisingly the boy looked shocked for only a second before he broke out in a wide grin. "They're alive? Really?". "Very much so. No injuries at all even All Might's respiratory system injuries, the reason for his retirement, has been completely healed. We believe it was your desperation to heal both him and your-" He stopped himself from saying accomplice "Friend back.". Tears of relief and joy rolled down Kyo's cheeks and Tsukauchi resolved to tell him everything.
And he did. He told Kyo about Nighteye's prediction, Midoriya's plan to use his quirk to heal All Might, the murder, everything the league had told them and how All Might had pushed for them to forgive him for what happened that night.
He told him everything, except the outcome they had decided on.

"Young Kyo! I hear you've woken up!" All Might called into the room. He had become one-sidedly more comfortable with the boy from visiting his hospital room and was excited to see him awake and well.
The moment Kyo saw All Might, he put down the glass of water he was drinking from and sunk to the ground. He kneeled before the former no.1 and bowed deeply. "I can't describe how sorry I am. For everything." He said, instead of tears like All Might had predicted, Kyo's voice was strong, resolute and a little hoarse.
"I accept your apology." All Might said "I would like to apologize once more as well. As pro heroes we failed you when you needed us most.". The two stayed silent for a moment before Kyo sat up. His bright red eyes met All Might's blue ones as he spoke what he had wanted to tell the hero since he had woken up.
"That's all I've ever wanted to hear.".
Surprisingly the two became comfortable with each other quite quickly. All Might helped him sound out the harder parts of the letters like people's names and pretty much all of Shigaraki's since that guy's quirk made his handwriting messy. "They aren't good people," Kyo said sadly as they finished Toga's "but they are my family. More so than anyone else. I don't suppose I can visit them while I'm in Tartarus?".
Kyo had already figured out what his punishment would be. You don't just kill the symbol of peace and get away with it even if you bring him back to life afterwards. All Might on the other hand was shocked when the boy said this. "Were you already told what we had decided?" He asked, still a little shocked.
The boy shook his head. "I tried asking the detective but he just avoided the question and left.". All Might took a deep breath. Why had they left him to say it?

"Welcome to your new holding cell!" The U.A principal said with a wide smirk. Kyo looked a little shocked but spoke regardless.
"This looks more like a bedroom than a cell?" "Ah, I neglected to tell you, its only your cell for the next 10 years. You'll study here until you graduate then take a position as a school nurse until you turn 25." He explained.
"And after that?" Kyo asked cautiously. He didn't like having his option sealed off. The loss of freedom reminded him too much of the brothel.
"You'll be free to do with your life as you please, except commit any more crimes, of course." Nezu said with a smile "Welcome back to U.A.".
Now, Kyo hadn't exactly woken up a changed 15 year old. He still disliked hero society even if he had accepted their apology. He mostly disliked U.A. His memories from being taken there even just for 24 hours weren't the greatest from both interrogations from Eraserhead to feeling like an idiot around all those hero students. At least he could somewhat read now. To get to the point, he didn't like U.A but it wasn't prison and he'd take it.
They left him in the room, which happened to be in the teacher's dorms for both his and the student's safety. It was fairly empty and he had no way of getting any decorations in so he settled for placing the get well cards on the desk and flopping back onto the bed.
U.A was still in immense disrepair from the attack, from ruined lawns to a crumbling main building the league had done some serious damage. Suddenly a pit of guilt built up inside Kyo. He had always believed in Shigaraki's words and followed them. When he was told to become scarier than monsters and to be the conviction for the innocent he had done so. Kyo still believed those words, to be honest no matter how badly that person had hurt him he was still a murderer, one of the scariest things out there. But he shouldn't have let his need for judgement destroy a school or traumatize children. He stifled a laugh at the word. Saying 'children' about a group of kids that were all at least a year older than him really put his life into perspective.
Hopping out of bed, Kyo went on the hunt for All Might.
"I'll start today if Recovery Girl needs help.".

Things are really getting a little wild over here.
Kyo's going to try to change sides now but there is a chance he's just too far gone.
Its a controversial decision to include rehabilitation in villain fics as that usually mean they're going to become heroes or escape again so I'm trying to keep it as true to my own plotline and not the stereotypical bnha l.o.v fic (◠‿◠)
