Present:
Sighing again, I absent mindedly rub at the skin on my wrist, letting my thumb trace over the two small letters.
She'd laugh at me if she knew.
The moment she crosses my mind, like she does a couple times in a day, I feel the tears start stinging my eyes. I try to ignore the hurt that creeps up on me but most days it's impossible to handle. Today seems to be one of those days. Today I'm in more pain than I usually am.
Part of me clings to the hope that she will come back one day, come find me.
That's why I never left, because she might come back for me. Because she made a promise to me, and I hope that she'll keep it still.
