The Next Morning

"Y/N," I hear in a singsong voice. Opening my eyes I see Serafall's bright eyes beaming and a huge smile on her face. Her arms wrap around me. "I'm so glad you're awake!"

"You act like I wasn't going to wake up at all." I sit up and put an arm around her.

"I'm leaving in a little bit and I wanted to see you again." My expression changes.

"Why did you have to remind me?" I hold onto her tighter. "I wish I could come with you." Serafall kisses me on the cheek.

"Me too. I'll be waiting for you to come visit me." Her head lands on my shoulder. "Waiting for my demonic prince to come take me away on a dark horse into the sunset." I start chuckling.

"What a day that will be." I sigh. "I really don't want to go to school today." A knock arrives at my door and I hear Mom's voice.

"Are you awake sweetie?"

"Yes Mother, I'll be out in a few minutes." I look back to Serafall and let her go. "Well, I guess I oughta get to it." I grab my school clothes but as I change my shirt Serafall puts her arms around me, holding my chest. I feel her head lean against my shoulders.

"Y/N, I love you." I pull my shirt on and turn to hug Serafall. She looks up to me and our lips connect.

"I love you too Serafall. I'll see you soon." I finish getting ready and head to the kitchen to grab my breakfast. Serafall says her goodbyes to everyone and she teleports away. I finish eating quickly and prepare to head to school, but before I do a hand lands on my shoulder. Turning around I see Dad.

"You don't have to go today if you don't want to." I shake my head.

"I don't want to, but if I don't then they might assume something is up." I summon Albion and take off with the wings, flying to school quickly. Once I arrive I get to class and take my seat well before the devils arrive. Once they come in I put on a fake smile and try to hide the sadness I'm feeling. Even if I haven't known Serafall for long she made me feel differently than anyone else ever has. I can't wait to see her again.

After School

I follow Sona to the Student Council and take a seat next to the window. It's really weird seeing the school repaired when less than 24 hours ago it was a battlefield. Even if the ground has been fixed I still can point out exactly where I killed Katerea and Vali. Sona's house all take off to do their summons and Sona leaves the office as well, leaving me sitting by myself.

"You've got a lot on your mind partner," Albion's voice booms in my head.

"Yeah, I guess so. I need to do anything to get my mind off of Serafall."

"Have you ever felt this way about anyone before?" I shake my head, and even though Albion couldn't directly see it he still knew. "Romance is complicated, especially when you're a dragon living inside of someone. I've seen my former hosts fall in love, but there's a lot about it that doesn't make sense to me. I understand for reproductive purposes, but it seems like it's a lot of hardship."

"The hardship is what makes a relationship stronger though," I interrupt. "It's about overcoming those challenges that make your connection with the person you love even stronger. That's something that Serafall and I have to face. In the position she's in nobody would accept her being in love with anyone that isn't a high ranking devil, and especially not a demon like me. It doesn't matter if I'm the new Dragon Sin or the White Dragon Emperor, I don't have that devil blood inside of me so I'm an invalid partner in their eyes."

"You're strong enough to get past that though. Maybe we should get some training in, help you harness my power more. You entered Balance Breaker like it was nothing, and that puts you leagues ahead of the Red Dragon Emperor currently."
