The Next Morning

Azazel gathers everyone up to send them off on their training, but I decide to stay away from it all. I said my goodbyes already and I don't want to make anyone have to waste more time than they already are. As I sit in the room I'm staying in someone knocks on the door.

"Y/N, it's Rias, may I come in?" I contemplate for a second but ultimately let Rias in. There's something I want to do while everyone is away, but she'll be staying here at the Gremory mansion so it isn't like I'll be able to sneak around with no problems. Rias sits at the edge of the bed and I reach for a shirt.

"What's going on princess?"

"Princess?" I look at her and shrug my shoulders.

"Aren't you the heiress to the Gremory family? I'd say that makes you a princess in some elements. It doesn't matter, what brings you to me?" I sit down next to Rias.

"I just wanted to check on you real quick before I got to my training. It's something that you said to me yesterday, and I wanted to ask for your advice."

"I'm not sure what advice I could give you, but I guess it's worth a shot." Rias sighs.

"Well, it's about being a leader. Azazel told me that I'm too easy on my servants. I've always viewed them as a family more than servants of mine, and most of them have been through a lot in their lives. All I wanted was to give them the lives that they didn't have before, a chance to be happy. The only person who had a normal life before they became a devil was Issei, but everyone else has dealt with quite a bit of hardship. I know you already know Koneko and Akeno's stories, but Kiba, Xenovia, and Asia have been through a lot in their lives." As I look at Rias I see someone who is genuinely seeking advice. Rias has been a good friend to me since I arrived in Kuoh, and even if I disagree with some of the things that she does she's still someone I want the best for.

"What are you trying to ask me Rias?" She looks back over at me.

"I'm just wondering what I can do to try to be a better leader without ruffling too many feathers." I stand up. "You offered help to Akeno and Koneko when they needed it the most, and I'm desperate for help."

"Do you want my advice truly Rias?" I look at her and she nods. "Keep this to yourself, but if I was to become a devil you're the one who I would want to be my King. You're not just a leader to your servants, you're a big sister and motherly figure at the same time. If I had any problems I know I could come to you and you would do anything that you could to help me. Sure, you may let them get away with a lot, but understand that you aren't a bad leader. A good leader is someone who can lead their troops through anything while also being the person that they can lean on when they need it. Here's what I'll tell you Rias, learn how to become a better commander and you'll be golden. Sometimes you may need tough love, but at the end of the day nobody in your household would take it personally, and if they do then they don't understand that you're trying to help them." I turn to Rias and she stands up to give me a hug.

"Thank you Y/N. I wasn't sure what I needed to hear, but you said exactly what I needed." I run my hand through her hair.

"Your hair is really smooth Rias. I need to get a hand on whatever product you use." I hear her start laughing.

"I'll keep that in mind Y/N." She lets me go and smiles at me. "I'll leave you alone now. If you need me for anything I'll be in the library, one of the maids will help you if you get lost." She leaves the room and I reach down into my bag, grabbing my sword. I head to the balcony and leave the Gremory mansion quickly and stealthily. With the plan that I have nobody can know where I'm going. I spread my wings and fly away towards my destination, and when I land I see the person I'm looking for. The person in question is a Nekomata with black hair, two black tails, and black ears.
