3. Dance my old friend

Lisa POV

I walked away from the office, this girl is so stubborn, and I just tried to make her feel better, yet she just tried to ignore me, maybe she really has changed, I mean yeah she wasn't the most charming and easy going girl back then but she was always nice with me, I went to the restroom to wash my face, because I just wanted to take my frustration away with cold water, this is going to be a long day, and it was only 11 am.

I took my phone and I ordered food, for us, yes food because I didn't have any breakfast, and I'm sure she probably ate just a granola bar, I kinda remember what she likes and for some reason she couldn't eat properly early in the morning.

I went out of the restroom and she was still in my office, her manager walked towards me to ask if everything was fine, I nodded and she went to the office, "Please let Miss Kim know that we will be having brunch, I ordered food for all of us, this going to be a long day", she nodded and went inside.

I'm just gonna listen to music for a while, to calm my bad mood, then I felt someone tapping my shoulder, ugh, I opened my eyes and it was Rosé, "Chipmunk!!!! How are you???? I didn't know you were back", she hugged me tight "Lis! I'm so glad to see you, I know you are working or meditating... Maybe" we laughed, "But I wanted to see you, I'm trying my luck again, I may get to debut soon, but idk if as a group, they are actually looking for another girls, but they praised my singing" I smiled at her, she was super happy, "Rosie let's get dinner tonite, can you? I wanna talk to you about some things", she nodded "Sounds pretty good, I know you are working with the ice queen, good luck, I'll text you back" we hugged again and she walked away.

I was all smiles and when I turned around Jennie was looking at me, a few meters away, maybe she heard what Rosé said, I mentally face palmed myself, "Manoban can we start again" she said and I just nodded, this time she seemed different, more energetic, and things went smoothly after this, the first part was already done, in less than 30 mins, we did it again with the music, she struggled at first, then it went better, way better,did she really called me Manoban or am I imagining things?

The food arrived and I told her to take a break, she just nodded, there's a little wood table and benches outside the studio, under a beautiful tree, we are in the 5th floor but it's like a terrace, only people inside the studio has access to it. I placed the food there and I went inside again.

"Let's eat something, it's late and we need energy", Jennie's manager nodded but Jennie touched her arm, and she sat again, I was holding the door, waiting for them, it was kinda awkward again, I just sighed deeply.

"Girls the food is gonna get cold, we don't have to be friends or something, but we will be working for a few months every day, so I think we should act cordially, you can eat outside, it's actually relaxing and I can take my food to my office, we don't have to bond or talk or anything, just business".

Jennie looked at me and then to her manager, both walked and I just followed them, "Here this is for you, and this is for you, I hope you like it, and I'll take my things, I'll eat inside, I'm sorry I forgot about beverages but I can bring a water bottle from my office for you girls", I said and walked to the door, "Manager Unnie can you just get me orange juice please", she nodded and got out, I was about to do the same when I heard her talk to me, or talk to somebody maybe her phone, "Hey, I want to apologise", I kept walking, "Manoban for God sakes I'm talking to you".

I just turned around all confused did she just called me Manoban again?, "Excuse me? I didn't listen I'm sorry", "I said I want to apologise, and don't make me say it again", she was speaking English to me, "It's ok, first days are always hard, but we will improve, don't worry", she nodded and got closer to me.

"Well I didn't mean about that, I know I'm like a mess, I mean I didn't recognise you, after all these years and I'm still terrible sorry Lili, also I treated you coldly and it wasn't my intention either, do you think we can start again?" She said that looking at me, her feline eyes showed the same softness she used to have for me, I was dumbfounded "I have been missing you, you know, you really helped me a lot, when I was alone, you were always kind and I thought I could finally return the help and support you gave me back then, we can start again for sure Miss Kim", she gave me a gummy smile, I didn't know I was longing for that smile till I saw it again, I took her hand and squeezed it a little, she went back to the table and her manager was already there, "I'll let you eat, we will go back to work again in 30 minutes, and I walked away, she looked at me, like if she was waiting for me to sit there and catch up, but I think we can't force things, maybe some other day.

In my office I saw a little note on the desk:

Thanks for the ice cream, you really know how to cheer up an old friend.

I just smiled maybe things were gonna get easier from now on, "We will rock this industry, I'm gonna help you, you'll see", I said for myself.

Time passed fast, she was already dominating the choreo "If we keep working like this we can practice with backup dancers really soon... and maybe you could sing as well, so make sure to warm up before you come tomorrow, it's already 6pm, you can go now, tomorrow 8am again" I said to her, she looked at me and nodded, her manager got ahead carrying her bag and she walked towards me, "Thank you, I just thought I couldn't dance well, but I can see the improvement in just one day, maybe we could see each other later on to catch up a little, if you have some time, I don't know", I smiled at her because I just think I got the wrong impression from her "Yes, sounds like a good plan, maybe in a couple of days when you get used to all this training, if you don't feel too tired", she gave me a gummy smile again and hugged me super fast, "Hey let's exchange numbers" she said still smiling and I gave her my phone, she saved her number, and she called me, "There, you can call me or text me, see you tomorrow, and thanks for everything", I nodded and she walked away.

Well this was better than I expected, maybe we could be friends again, even if we didn't start well, she does have potential, why is she holding herself back, she used to dance pretty well at least she seemed to enjoy it even if it was sooooo demanding, we would almost faint after our dance sessions.

Manager Unnie POV

I'm a little bit confused, Jennie was all smiles now, when earlier she was annoyed as 'duck', (yeah I never swear sorry guys, I gotta be the mature person in this whole thing), I was already dying when I saw Lisa, her dance skills were really amazing and Jennie could learn a lot, but I swear this girl gets on my nerves, she is like a little sister for me, but the annoying one that is too demanding, luckily it seems she likes me, she is not rude just kind of quiet and she does have a strong temper, she has been trying to prove herself that she will achieve this, she doesn't know what are the plans that YG has for her, it's impressive so I'm gonna try to motivate this kiddo, I'm just a couple of years older than her though.

God please have mercy, let's hope she gets this in her thick head, she better tries to develop her dancing skills or other girl will take her place, I'm too attached to her to let her ruin her future, maybe Lisa can help me, since today I saw a different Jennie after brunch, she looked more open to Lisa's ideas and she didn't look like a female version of Mr. Roboto.
