8. Let's catch up

Lisa POV

Jennie seemed really excited "Wow! you do have a nice car huh?, so will you tell me you are a billionaire now?", I just laughed "I'm not but the payment is good, so I already have saved a lot and I got this car, it's not a new model, yet I like it and actually the company pays for my flat so it's easier to save this way", she looked at me and I swear those cat eyes are so expresive "That's nice, they know how to keep you interested, since you are talented, I'm telling you, you are really good", I blushed and just smiled "I just do what I love, maybe that's why", she looked at me with something on her eyes, they were sparkling  "You always have been talented, since the moment I saw you dancing for the first time I knew you were born for this, some people are destined to become something great, like you right now, getting to achieve your goals at a young age", I was out of words, I just managed to say something like "Thank you, it really means a lot" and she gave me a gummy smile, the one I loved to see on her face.

We got out of the car, straight to our favourite Ice cream parlor, "I can't believe we are here, do you think the owner is still the same old lady?", She asked me and I smiled at her "I hope so, remember how she used to give us extra everything, and we ended with huge bowls?" We laughed, "I do, life was easier back then, well if you take aside the pressure of training and all that, but I think it was because I had one of the most amazing best friends ever" she smiled at me and we got inside, the same old lady was there, taking care of the business, but the interior looked completely different, actually modern and cool, even bigger now "Jennie and Lisa? Are you guys seriously coming back after all this time? Come here kiddos, you look exactly the same, actually prettier and taller", Jennie smiled and took my hand "Mrs. Lee we are sorry for don't come back for a while, but we have been working really hard, I may debut this year, and Lisa is a choreographer now", Jennie said smiling non stop, the old lady looked us all proud, "I knew you guys would make it, I actually feel really proud, so do you want your usual? And maybe a pic of you eating here, like the one we took years ago" We both nodded, we took a pic with Mrs. Lee and went to sit with a huge bowl of ice cream as we used to get back then.

"This is so damn tasty, just like I remember, seriously, we shouldn't have stopped coming here" I said to Jennie while eating, she looked at me with a sad smile "I actually kept coming every Wednesday and Saturday, I was expecting to see you around here, but after a while it got harder, and since you never came here well I eventually stopped, It's not that I wanted to stop, it's just my schedule was more hectic".

She looked down at her bowl and I was out of words, I didn't know what else to say, it took me a couple of minutes to speak "I didn't think you would come back here, I mean you weren't in the same location, you were in the heart of YG entertainment and It was really far from here", I looked at her and she just smiled "I really appreciated our friendship and since we couldn't use our phones and technology was really lame, I didn't think in another way to contact you, maybe I should have tried harder".

She looked out of the window and I took her hand "Jen, it took me a lot to get used to the idea to don't see you everyday, it was hard because you were always there for me and suddenly I was alone, everything was... was too much, that's why I didn't want to come back here, it crossed my mind a couple of times but I thought it would be overwhelming, I wish I did, I really do, if only I knew you would be here"

I had to stop talking, a lump was forming on my throat and I felt how some tears were forming so I tried to stop them, then I tried to regain my coolness, she was really sad, I could see her face, she was evading my eyes and I tried to keep talking "Though I saw you once, in this trainees presentation, you know the ones that are on the top list, the best of the best, you were amazing, but I couldn't go backstage, they didn't let me, and then you did a collaboration with GD, it was amazing, I was so proud of you, I'm still really really proud of you, and you know we can't blame ourselves for like drift apart, we were just kids and we knew they were strict when we accepted this life", Jennie just nodded and kept eating ice cream with a little smirk "We were cute and innocent kids, I'm cuter though", I just smiled, she was indeed cuter than me.
