It was a calm Friday evening. The sun was setting and all that could be heard in the distance was the chatter of the teenage students that had stayed late after school. Volleyball practice ended an hour ago. Me and Hinata stayed to practice his jumps a little longer. He begged Daichi and Sugawara to wait for a little longer. He really is amazing. Not that I'd ever tell him that. His tenacity and drive are extremely contagious. It's honestly nice having someone like me, (again not that I'd ever tell him that.) someone who understands my deep love for volley ball. It doesn't help that he's kinda cute... Huh? What was that? I didn't say anything.
Just as Hinata was getting it Daichi screamed at us to go home. Sugawara and Asahi were also there laughing at the ball hitting Hinata on the head as he fell. They waited another twenty minutes while we cleaned up and got changed. We all said our goodbyes and set off for home. It was silent between me and Hinata as we walked. He seemed kind of out of it. Staring forward he started mumbling and fiddling with his fingers. (Kags has his bike in case you guys were wondering where it is)
"Hey boke, what's wrong with you?" I'm guessing he didn't hear me since he kept mumbling and his gaze stayed on the ground. "BOKE HINATA BOKE!" He jumped nearly tripping over his own feet. "Huh! Oh sorry Tobio did you say something?" ...Tobio? That's new... "What are you thinking about so hard that you couldn't even hear me?" He started fidgeting with his fingers. "Oh, um... the jumping technique you were showing me? That wasn't supposed to sound like a question."
His face was a light shade of red and he seemed oddly flustered. What's going on here? "Am I supposed to believe that? I mean you literally questioned your own answer. Also am I supposed to pretend you didn't call me Tobio before?" He turned away and started stuttering. "O-oh y-you caught that huh? You didn't say anything so I thought it was just in my head..."
As he drifted off he stopped walking completely. His head was down and his shoulders were stiff. I was gonna reach out to him when he suddenly started talking. "U-um it's getting kinda late. Could I... Maybe sleep over at your place ...?" His head dropped back down, but not before I caught a glimpse of his crimson cheeks and ears. When I actually paid attention his ears were slightly wiggling. It's honestly so cute. "Boke .. is that the reason why your acting so weird?" Without raising his head he let out a squeak that sounded like a yes. I rolled my eyes smiling.
"Dumbass you could've just asked. My mom loves when you come over for some reason." He looked up smiling. His face still red. He was gonna say something but I cut him off. "You still haven't explained the Tobio ..?" I smirked and he turned even redder if that's possible. "Oh uh- it was an accident... I didn't mean to" He's so cute it should be illegal. "I don't mind, as much as I hate to admit it you probably know me better than anyone. Tell anyone I said that and I will kill you!" I could tell I was blushing and he could too.
He looked kinda surprised by my slight blush but ignored it. "You really mean that ... T-Tobio...?" His blush quickly changed to a smile. This can't be good. "You mean I know the king best out of everyone. I feel so humbled." I started blushing again. Turning my head I regained my composure. "You idiot, shut it and let's go. It's cold out here and my house is so close." He just smiled and started walking with a skip in his step. "You can call me Shōyō... if you want." He said quickening his pace.
Why is he so fucking cute. I just smiled to myself continuing to walk. He wouldn't have heard me even if I answered him. ... We made it to my house and my parents weren't home. My mom left a note saying that they had to go back into to work for some reason. Nothing new, so I just did what I always did. Went to find some food. "Hey, Shōyō you want some meat buns?" He came running into the kitchen like a little kid. "DID YOU SAY MEAT BUNS? IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION?" Yea I figured myself. "Oi boke don't be so loud. I'll heat some up for us." He smiled and started bouncing on his heels. Suddenly he stopped and starting blushing like crazy. ...? "What's wrong?" I shot him a confused glance
