Third person P.o.v

It was a Saturday morning when Keiji woke up to a heavy feeling on his chest. It had felt like his throat along with his nose were locked shut. Suddenly he coughed and felt an aching pain throughout his entire upper body. Now he understood he was sick. A mild cold maybe? He had always told Kōtarō to remember to close the windows when they were going to bed. Not the the older man ever seemed to remember. Getting up he walked to the bathroom and attempted to brush his teeth. The consistent coughing made it hard for him though. Seeing as he felt like he was going to choke on his brush.

Kōtarō awoke to the sound of Keiji coughing. Still half asleep he got up to go search for his boyfriend. Finding him in the bathroom he walked up behind him and slipped his arms around his waist, resting his chin on the younger mans head. Finishing rinsing out his mouth, Keiji looked into the mirror making eye contact with Kōtarō. He gave him a slight glare and the owl like man flinched in response. Still he held onto his boyfriend. "Kōtarō..." his tone was menacing and his voice scratchy. Kōtarō took note of this while he raised an eyebrow still looking at his boyfriend in the mirror. He wasn't awake enough to be fully functional. Keiji rolled his eyes but continued to speak. "You left the Windows open again last night." Kōtarō took a minute to process what the man meant before he understood. 'That's why his voice is scratchy he's sick' , he thought to himself.

He lifted up a hand placing it on Keiji's forehead then on his chest. Without a word Kōtarō unlatched himself from his lover and walked over to the shelf in the bathroom. Pulling out a thermometer and placed it in the younger mans mouth. It beeped and he pulled it out. It was now confirmed that Keiji had a fever, which he was already sure of just being cautious. Cleaning up the thermometer and putting it away he walked back over to his partner. Before he could even do anything Keiji spoke. "Brush your teeth before you even think  about talking." His face and voice held no emotion. As he stood and waited for him to finish, he had gone into a coughing fit. With his sides starting to hurt he decided to go back and sit on the bed, feeling considerably weaker.

Walking back into their room with a wet face Kōtarō spoke for the first time that morning. "Keiji, baby how are you feeling?" Looking up and taking a second to think he answered. "I'll live but we don't have any medicine home." Kōtarō nodded his head at this and walked over to their closet. Walking in he pulled out a hoodie and some pants. "I'm gonna go pick up the medicine and your favorite soup. Do you want any snacks or anything?" A faint smile danced on Keiji's lips as he looked at his lover. "Um I guess some tea and something sweet?" Kōtarō had expected this answer. Keiji had always acted the same when he got sick. It hadn't happened often, but when it did it was always the same. At first he'd be his normal quiet self. Then as the day progresses he'd have all these cravings for sweets and attention. It was honestly adorable to Kōtarō. Keiji was always taking care of him, he loved being able to return the favor.

As he ran around picking things up for his sick lover he put some haste in his step. He knew that Keiji would start to worry the second he left the house. Skeptical that he wouldn't come back or just extremely impatient. He really was like a different person when sick. Within half an hour Kōtarō was on his way back home. Having only received a couple texts from Keiji rather than calls. As he reached his doorstep his phone began to ring. Putting down the bags in his hand he answered the call without checking the caller ID. "I'm already home sugar plum. You think you can walk to the living room or are you in too much pain?" He was met with a very light "sure" and some sniffles. He kicked his shoes off at the door and walked to the kitchen to put stuff away. He could hear the bedroom door open, along with the sound of something dragging across the rug.

Putting the kettle on he walked out of the kitchen meeting his sugar plum halfway. He took a minute to examine him. Keiji stood there a large fluffy blanket draped over his shoulders. He had small beads of sweat at the tip of his forehead, his face slightly red. He had changed into some comfy pajamas, assuming it was due to the fact that he had previously only been in a tshirt and boxers. He sported a small smile while holding his arms out. "Awww did my little Keiji baby miss me?" He scooped him up into his arm while the younger nodded his head. Walking over to the couch Kōtarō sat down holding his lover in his lap. "How are you feeling right now?" Keiji lifted his head to look at the ceiling. He stayed quiet for a minute thinking. As he responded his voice came out soft, almost like a whisper. "Don't leave me alone again, I missed you too much." Kōtarō chuckled at this.
