there she stood on the ledge of the building, looking at the stars for the last time

the stars shined brighter that night.

her mom begging and crying for her to get down

but all she could hear was the sound of the cars passing

it sounded peaceful. it filled her with comfort

"im sorry. i let you down again."

she said moments before she let herself fall back

"you never did."

her mom whispered falling onto her knees

she never got the chance to tell her that she was proud.

it was too late, her baby was gone.
