Valeria could hear him coming.
The door? No, never. He never used it. She couldn't help but to wonder why, but the blonde never found the courage to ask.
Instead, she just remained there, with her back facing toward the window. Just like the last couple times.
She could guess, though.
The blonde girl can hear him closing the window, followed by his gentle footsteps as he circles around her bed. He hardly made any noises before, she would like to believe that he intentionally did all these things to warn her; To let her know of his arrival, to let her know where he is.
To let her know that he is there.
When she opened her eyes, she could see him standing next to her. The flowers in the vase replaced with fresh ones, a fully-charged Nintendo DS by the table, accompanied with a thermos filled with cold soda. Luxuries that the hospital won't normally provide her.
He just stood there in tranquil silence, with both of his hands deep in the pockets of her parka; She remembers losing it back in the park, yet it's there. On his body.
She couldn't hear him breathe, she didn't even see him moving the slightest inch. There's hardly any energy in her body to move that much, and she doesn't even felt like moving.
After what felt like hours, but in truth, just mere minutes of contemplating silence, he finally moved; To leave her for the night.
A sudden burst of energy that she didn't even know she had, and her left hand; as Painful as it was, reached for him. And she managed to grab his hand.
He stopped still in his tracks, and as she finally build the courage to slightly move her head to look upward, her hazel eyes met with a pair of beautiful, violet-blue eyes that seems to glow in the cruel dark.
Stay, she thought. Hoping that the message would be relayed to him.
Her prayer were answered when he used his other hand to grab the chair, and pulled it closer to him without making too much noises. He sat down next to her, still holding firmly the hand that reached out to him. The hooded figure leans to her bed, holding her hand close to his face as he gently kissed the back of her palm.
After the silence that enveloped the two souls, for the first time after several days, he finally spoke to her.
"You hit hard."

"She knows."
"Who knows?"
"You know who I meant."
"...What will you do about it, then?"
"Well, she hadn't snitched you out. So I won't do anything."
"Huh."
"Just remember that you will be risking everything we have on her silence."
"I know what's at stake."
"Sure, will you kill her if it comes to that?"
"I'll make sure that she won't talk."
"Will you, really?"
"Hey, you have that lady from DC, too."
"Heh, fair."
