Christmas might be over, but the holiday spirit is still alive and well.

Ilya's family is taking her on a one week trip back to the motherland. It was such a heartbreaking moment once she realizes that she will be starved off her dose of daily Damian... Amongst other things. The families there are just as conservative as the US, so she complained about having to bear with her babushka, as nice as she was, wanting Ilya to be an Orthodox nun, of all things.

The only comment he made was how he wonders how she would look like in a nun outfit. Which might have backfired with the mischievous smile she shot at him. Reese and the other Blackwatch boys in the back of his mind basically flooded his mind with some seriously kinky nun porn, and now he had to get the image of Ilya in the most indecent nun clothing... That is, if she's really wearing much of a layer of fabric on her body....

He's going to bash his head on a concrete wall later, in the meantime, he's comforting the brunette in the Detroit Metropolitan Airport with a certain blonde, and dark-haired girl. To be honest, he wasn't really keen on going to an airport.

Yesterday, exactly on the 25th of December, the Al-Qaeda tried to bomb a plane coming from all the way from Amsterdam. It would had succeeded, if it weren't for the fact that the bomb failed to detonate properly. Both Ilya and her big mama was worried, but they decided to go anyway.

For that, Damian switched the necklace he gifted to her with another lookalike. A perfect copy, completely indistinguishable, minus the noticeably more weight on the piece of jewelry. It was a Blacklight failsafe, a part of him. If it detects traces of gunpowder of other explosive materials, it will go utterly ballistic and kill whoever is stupid enough to try to bomb a plane which has his best friend on it.

It's also a failsafe if the worst came to realization, and she was killed in that scenario... The Blacklight will... well...

You know what would happen.

Ilya will live on.

"I changed my mind, I don't want to gooo!" Her voice was muffled as she had buried her face deep in Maria's sweater. The latter seemingly more worried about the Russian snotting on her expensive piece of clothing than her feelings. Still, the Italian did her best to hold Ilya close to her, with Valeria and Damian quickly joining in for the group hug.

"It's only a week!"

"We could extend it into two..." Her mother joined in with an awkward cough, "Depends, really..."

"Really unhelpful, here." Damian quipped with his usual smile, as the older figure just chuckled at his remark. He then turns his attention back to the brunette who were giving him the puppy eyes, acting as if they would never see each other again.

"We'll see you in a week or two." The evolved reassured. "We can just do Skype and all that stuffs. None of us is going anywhere, you big baby."

"Dimyyy!" She pouts.

"Maybe next time I'll go with you." Her eyes sparkled at that, "You'll have to introduce me to your father and the others."

"W-Well-" The brunette started coughing awkwardly, her eyes darting all over the place as she began nervously smiling, "A-Aren't we just rushing things up?"

He tilts his head. Maria just rolled her eyes, with Valeria muttering something under her breath. Ilya seemingly caught on to what was going on, especially with her mother giving her a suggestive smile. She quickly recomposed herself.

"Right." The brunette let out a wistful sigh. "I almost forgot that I'm talking to a Damian here."

"He'd give you a diamond ring on your first date and would assume that's normal." Valeria scoffed. "He's out of this world."
