"So you're saying that he basically just .... called you? Out of nowhere? To ask you on a date?! A DATE?!" Sophia Taylor started laughing at her friend as they walked out of their French class to the cafeteria. "Yes Marianna, boys like that exist." She shook her head. "I refuse to believe that, they just suck." Sophia raised an eyebrow as they joined their friends. "Who suck?" Leigh - Anne asked, joining the conversation.
"Boys. According to Maria that is." The Taylor girl voiced as Marianna rolled her eyes. "You're just saying that because you're single Mari. Get yourself a boyfriend." Elena Joyner answered, leaning with her arm on the table so she could follow the conversation better. "May i remind you Elena, that i just came out off a relationship which lasted four months, thank you very much." She leaned back on her chair as Elena rolled her eyes." That was three months ago. And you can't call it a relationship if you're not in love with the guy." Marianna sighed. "Just ... don't okay? If i want a boyfriend, then i'm gonna get a boyfriend .... Anyway, soph tell them!" They all turned to the other girl. "Tell us what?" Emily, their friend from French class, walked up to them. "Reg asked me out an a date."
The girls started to squeal, catching the attention of different groups sitting around them. One off those being the guy group which consisted off Charlie Gillespie, Jeremy Shada, James Matthews, Alex Mercer, Reginald Peters and, ofcourse, Owen Joyner. (A/N just imagine Owen and Jer with different/ longer hair... kinda like what they look like rn and Alex and Reg as they look like as their characters.) Reginald, Reggie for short, was smirking with a knowing look on his face as he saw Sophia's face getting more red by the minute. "She told them, didn't she?" Alex asked, eating his sandwich. "She sure did." The boys laughed as they decided to walk up to the girls.
"Hello ladies" James announced as they came into view. "Speaking of, where is mine?" He was looking around for a sign of Delilah Johnsson, which he could not find. "You called?" As is she could sense it, Delilah showed up next to James, Isabella on her heels. "Aah, just the girl i was looking for. Hey babe." He said as they kissed eachother. "Ugh get a room!" Two people voiced at the same time. Marianna and Owen looked at eachother shocked about how in sync they were. It fell silent for a second as they started to laugh, the group just staring. "You'll understand once you start dating O." James shoved Owen who rolled his eyes and shoved the blackhaired guy right back.
In the meanwhile, Delilah was observing her friend. In contrast to Elena, Delilah DID know about the 'secret conversations' Marianna was having with Owen. And ever since Marianna told her, Delilah was looking for something. She was searching for a spark. That spark that she and James had when they looked at one another. So far Marianna's spark for Owen had been hard to find (Owen was like reading an open book. Except for his sister and possible crush apparently.) But stuff like this made her wonder if that flickering in Marianna's eyes as she saw Owen Joyner (or even when hearing his name) was closer than Delilah realised. She made a mental note to check that as she zoomed back into the conversation. Looking at both Owen and Mari from time to time.
"That's what i was saying to Mar here." Elena threw her arm around Marianna's shoulder as if it would help her proof her point. The bell rang and Marianna walked away without saying anything. "Where are you going?" Elena called after her as she turned around to face her again. "We already discussed this Len. I already told you what i think of this opinion of yours. Don't push me into an relationship again." She answered calmy. "I didn't -" As she started to defend herself, Marianna put her hand up as a stop sign. "Yes Elena. You did. Come on Bella, we're late for geography."
Isabella Murphy followed her friend shortly, mainly scared of what Marianna was capable of, no one knew. She was never this calm. It was scary. " Mari i'm sorry -" Marianna sighed. "I just don't wanna talk about it okay? Let's just focus on Miss Holland. " Isabella snickered. "Do you think her last name had anything to do with the fact that she chose to become a geography teacher?" Marianna started laughing. "I don't know.. Maybe we should ask her." Her hand shot up into the air. "ANNA NO!" Isa started to panick and tried to put her hand down but badly enough, the teacher had already seen it. "Yes Marianna?" She looked at Isabella while smirking. "Yes ma'am i just wanted to ask..... if you have new glasses? I really like them." Isabella let out an audible sigh as the teacher answered Marianna with a "Yes, thank you." The blond girl turned her head to look at Isabella with an innocent smile. Isabella slapped her on the arm as a reaction. "Well no need to be so violent Bells. Come on, you know i would never do that." Bella rolled her eyes. "Yeah like you wouldn't dare." She chuckled. "Exactly, see? I knew you would get me." Before they could continue their conversation, miss Holland's voice was heard, asking for everyone's attention.
Owen Joyner was tapping his pen on his paper as he was trying to concentrate on the math teacher. This was no succes though. For some reason, he couldn't concentrate on the numbers and the old, like coffee smelling, teacher.
No one could blame him, he always hated math (even though he was quite brilliant at it, but he wasn't going to admit it or even bring that up. God no.)
As he looked around, he saw the whole class looking like some zombie movie: dead. Or bored, he never knew in this class. He was drifting off again as Luke shook his shoulder. "Dude." He pointed to the teacher as he looked at the two with an irritated face. "Mr Joyner. Nice of you to join us once again. Since you're apparently more interested in your textbook than my class, give me the answer to this equasion." Owen sighed. "46." He was right.
To no surprise.
The teacher was stunned, the boy wasn't. "Was that it?" He asked, eyebrows raised. He heard someone cough and looked to his left. Alex was looking at him with a stern look in his eyes. Owen rolled his and then finished his sentence with "sir." He looked at Alex with a face that said 'Happy now?" The boy nodded happily like he was proud of himself.
Back to maths again, he was finally getting the hang of it when he felt someone tap his shoulder. Irritated by yet another interruption he turned around. "May i help you?" He looked right into the dark, almost black eyes of the one and only Katherine Vega. "Hi Owen." She batted her fake lashes. " I ehm.. just wanted to ask if you wanted to get coffee sometime soon?" Luke, who was sitting next to him, almost choked on his own spit as the girl asked him this. Kat Vega was one of the fakest girls in their grade. But knowing Owen, it was hard to guess what he was going to do.
"Let me think about it, okay Kat?" He answered. Katherine almost melted as he used a nickname for her. "Okay Owen." She twisted her hair around her finger. He just winked at her and turned around again.
Both Luke and Alex, who also heard the conversation looked at him with wide eyes.
The moment the bell rang and they stepped out of the classroom, Alex spoke up.
"Dude what the fuck?"
He smirked and was about to make a remark when a few other girls walked by and his smirk fell.
Those girls were also known as Isabella Murphy, Delilah Johnsson and Marianna Smith: his sisters bestfriends.
