(requested by ItsScarlet_Fallen i hope you enjoy!)
You hummed quietly to yourself, eyes flicking in between the pink monster or the mango one, torn between them. Sighing, you picked both up, knowing that either way, you were going to need the caffeine at some point. You turned to the side to go find snacks, but instead collided with someone, your face crashing into their chest. Stepping back quickly, you blinked at the person who you had unfortunately almost knocked over.
He laughed nervously. "U-uh I'm sorry?"
"No, w-wait, I'm the one who should be sorry," you argued, relaxing as you saw him smile at you.
Now being able to look at him properly, you gulped nervously, feeling stupid. This guy was kind of cute, and you messed up by walking into him. His eyes flicked to the two cans of monster in your hand. "You took a long time to decide a monster flavour," he stated, his hand reaching out to grab a pink one next to you. His nails were painted black with smiley faces on them, and you noted how pretty they looked before turning back to his face. "The pink one is my favourite."
"O-oh, I've never tried it," you stammered out, mentally smacking yourself in the face. He probably thought you were stupid now.
Biting your lip anxiously, you turned to walk past him, thinking that snacks would at least help you feel better about making a fool of yourself, but the lights flickered off, plunging the 7/11 into darkness. You froze in the darkness, a million scenarios of what happened flashing through your mind.
Someone walked into you, knocking you both to the floor. "Oops," the guy from before said sheepishly. "I just wanted to find you but it's kinda dark so..."
He jumped up off you, his hand fumbling about, presumably trying you find yours, but instead just smacking against your shoulder. You pulled your phone out of your pocket, gently lowering the monster cans to the ground, turning on the torch and shining it in his face. He smiled, finally finding your hand and pulling you up. "Don't forget your monster!" he said cheerily, despite the fact you were literally in the dark.
"W-what do you think happened?" the adrenaline from the sudden darkness and then being knocked over was already starting to fade, and all you were left with was a feeling of dread. You shined the torch around the 7/11, frowning when no one was at the till, the machine completely turned off.
"Oh. We've been locked in," he answered. He patted you on the shoulder gently. "We can call them, and they'll come to unlock us, ok?"
After a hasty phone call, you were told that they would be there to unlock the door in thirty minutes. You had 30 minutes to spend with the guy you collided into, and then he collided into you, and you thought he was cute. This was going to be fun.
You were sat on the counter, swinging your legs, trying to ignore the fact he was staring at you. He probably thought you were a weirdo.
"My name's Karl." He broke the silence, the phone torch in his hand illuminating his face.
"U-uh I'm Y/N," you answered, smiling as best as you could.
He fidgeted with his hands, his bracelets and rings clinking as he did. "So, you live here?"
"I go to school around here." You tilted your head curiously. "Why?"
"O-oh no reason. Just...I live around here and I was wondering if you did too..." his voice trailed off, and he turned his gaze from his hands to you, innocently looking at you. You blushed without thinking, hoping that he couldn't see it.
"I like your style!" you blurted out, resisting the urge to smack yourself in the face. Who yells something like that out loud in an attempt to flirt?
His eyes widened and he grinned. "I think yours is cooler."
You fell into silence after that, tension in the air that you weren't sure you could break. Karl frowned, before jumping up and sitting next to you, his shoulder nudging up against yours. Freezing, you turned to him, answering his grin with a questioning glance. He somehow grinned even wider at that, pulling something out of his pocket which he fumbled with. He opened it with a hiss, and you noticed it was a pink monster. "You said you never tried it, right? Here."
You took it from his hands, tentatively taking a sip after he nodded eagerly. "It tastes good..." you mumbled, suddenly even more nervous after all the attention from him.
"Right?" he exclaimed. "It's my favourite!"
The lights flicked on, the doors crashing open as an employee started to apologise. You turned to Karl, laughing when all he did was shrug at you, and let the employee guide you outside.
Was this it? Would you leave and never see Karl again? Maybe it was just a once-in-a-lifetime encounter that you'd never experience ever again.
Sighing, you looked up at the night sky, feet already starting to guide you back home, where it would be warm, and you could enjoy your monsters. You looked down at your bag, eyes widening when you saw there were three instead of the two you bought, a piece of paper carefully folded on top of the third.
You really seemed to enjoy this, so I decided to give you mine! Enjoy :) Also, I want to talk to you in somewhere that isn't a dark 7/11 so...
