Dream and Blue stood at the border of the kingdom, looking up at the wall, ready to walk through the opening, but were they ready? They stood their with backpacks and bags, about to leave. Serena stood next to them, saying her goodbyes to her friends. She wrapped her arms around them. "I'll miss you two, you better come and see me once you win, or write a letter." Serena said, just hoping for her friends safety.
"Thank you Serena, and I'll write to you if I live." Dream said, hugging his friend back.
"You better live, or I'm gonna start a war." Serena said, being the older, chaotic sister of the group. Blue chuckled and Dream got a bit nervous.
"Woah! You can do that if Blue dies, but it's not needed for someone like me!" Dream watched Serena look up at him slowly, giving direct contact.
"Never say that again, you are both so amazing, and I'd cry forever if either of you died." Serena said, looking up at Dream with an intimidating stare.
"Okay! Okay!" Dream said, admitting defeat to his friend. She took at step back and smiled at the two.
"We'll miss you Serena!" Blue said, giving her a friendly smile. Serena looked at Blue.
"I'll miss you guys too!" Serena said, her eyes watering a bit.
"Hey don't cry! It's okay!" Dream said frantically trying to calm down his friend. She just wiped her tears and smiled.
"Don't worry about me! I'll be fine! Just make sure that you're okay!" She smiled up at the two, a mixture of sadness and worry in her eyes. Dream looked at her for a moment before taking a small step away.
"If you say so."
"Well, you two should get going now. I love you guys, please be safe." Serena looked at the two who put their hoods up and gave her determined smiles.
"We love you too." The two boys said in unison, waving goodbye. Then, they left through the opening, leaving Serena standing in the dark, alone, not knowing when she'd she her friends again, or if she would ever be able to see them again in the first place.
Dream held the lantern up, lighting the path as him and Blue got further and further away from the kingdom and deeper into a place unknown to them. "Do you wanna look at the map, Blue?" Dream asked, turning to light his friends face up with the lantern so he could see him in the darkness.
"Yeah, let me get it." Blue said, walking behind Dream to reach into the backpack. Dream stopped, letting him look around for the map until he pulled it out, a proud expression on his face. He took the map and closed the backpack, stepping away so they can continue onward.
"Well, let's get going then." Dream said, then the two marched forward, watching the distant outline forest slowly approach. Once they get through that, they'll be in the kingdom.
By Dream's calculations, they should be able to reach the forest sometime tomorrow, and make it into the kingdom sometime that night. Then they'll have to find this "Killer" guy. And after that they'll have to continue forward until they make it back to his homeland.
This'll take a long time, and definitely be a challenge. And he's not sure if they'll even make it through the forest, but they'll try their best.
