The two skeletons continued forward as more and more trees appeared around them. the blanket of darkness laying over them. The cold wind running against their cloaks. The leaves crunching under their feet, the occasional twigs snapping also.

Dream and Blue were completely focused, making sure there was no out of the ordinary noise. People occasionally disappear here, and then the townsfolk are always to afraid to search for them, they don't wish to meet the same fate.

That's when they heard different leaves crunching to the left of them. Dream glanced over, but couldn't see anything. The footsteps were quiet, he wouldn't have noticed them unless he was so insanely focused. Dream then grabbed Blue's hand, he promised to protect the skeleton, so that's what he'll do. He listened to the footsteps and where they were coming from, and then were only getting closer. But Dream was ready to jump back and shoot with his bow as soon as this creature attacked.

Dream practically flung him and Blue, not expecting an attack like this. Dream hit his back against a tree and Blue was flung onto the ground. It was so painful, but if he didn't do it they would've died, and Dream wants to at least make it into the first kingdom and have Blue make it back alive.

The golden skeleton got back onto his feet, covered in bruises and scratches from the tree, his legs shaking. But he faced this creature.

It looked like him and Blue, except it was a black skeleton with multiple colors and blue tears streaming down his cheeks, that seemed like he could use as weapons in battle. When Dream looked in his eyes, he saw insanity and bloodlust, this monster wanted to kill them.

And so a fight began. The positive skeleton shot at the other, trying to keep him from getting close to him and Blue. And Blue was behind Dream, using small bone attacks to help, since Dream didn't want him to get in the main fight and get hurt.

But, the crying skeleton noticed this and began trying to go for Blue with his strings. Along with his bow, the golden skeleton had also brought a machete, because let's face it, you can't win every fight with just a bow. So he would slash at the strings and cut them.

That was until one was able to wrap around his wrist. Dream felt himself lose balance and begin being pulled in the direction of the stranger, trying to fight, but the more time that went by the more strings that wrapped around him.

Once the skeleton in his red cloak stopped pulling him, Dream fell to the ground, right in front of the skeleton with colorful eyes. And in that moment, he just prepared himself for the sting of death.

But it didn't come, or at least not instantly. Instead, this individual laughed. His voice was glitched and deep. Dream glanced back at Blue for a moment, who was frozen. He had to keep moving, without the skeleton in his turquoise cloak there to slice away the strings, this creature could easily get him if he didn't move.

Blue saw the look in his eyes, as if telling him to run. But he wouldn't. He wasn't just gonna leave Dream here for whatever would happen if he didn't escape. He had to do something, something. If only he wasn't so weak, maybe he could save Dream!

No, he's the magnificent Blue! And he will save his friend! He just has to find a way to outsmart the one in red.

But what could he do? He would have to be a genius. This skeleton is much more powerful then him. But then again, he has to save Dream. Dream tried so hard to protect him that he didn't even think about himself.

That's Dream for you, the blue skeleton thought, sighing. He's selfless.
