Hajime POV

I spent the rest of the afternoon at Ena house looking after her. She apparently left school due to a stomach virus and she also has a mild fever. I sat on the edge of her bed and looked at her carefully. Her eyes were closed but she still spoke to me quietly.

"Hajime again, I'm so sorry for not being able to walk with you today I-"

I found myself shushing her as a laid a cool damp towel across her forehead.

"Don't worry about any of that, I'm seriously not going to be that upset over missing one day of our routine."

She sighed slowly, her lips parting just slightly.

I can't stop looking at her. I never realized how beautiful she was until now.

——————-
Ena hasn't been able to show up to school for the past couple of days, so I made sure to text and visit her whenever I was free.

The bell for lunch finally rung, so I grabbed my bag and started making my way down the long hallways until I reached the corridor leading to the outside. Leaning on a railing, I saw Natsumi looking down at the rest of the students that wandered the campus. I decided to say hi to her since last time we spoke we seemed to have a fair understanding of each other.

"Natsumi, what are you doing out her by yourself?"

"What do you care? You're just some random from the reserve course. I can do whatever I damn well please, you wouldn't understand since you're not an Ultimate."

"Well you're not much of a Ultimate in that uniform you're wearing right now" I replied sternly.

"Shut up already! You don't know a thing.." her eyes suddenly filled with up with tears, but her face still composed that irritated look she had when I first walked over. "I'm getting that transfer to the main course no matter what...I have to....I know I have a talent. Being the Ultimate Little Sister is a goal, I can't be left behind and I can't be a failure to the Kuzuryu family."

I stared at the ground below with Natsumi as I listened to her. Then I started thinking about Ena. Natsumi looks at herself as a failure to her brother if she doesn't make it to the main course. I can only imagine Ena thinks the same about me. I've been wanting to tell her how I feel but - overall I'm still a nobody. She would never look at me the same if I told her my feelings, I know she would much rather be with someone who's an Ultimate anyways.

"I understand you." I told Natsumi.

She brushed the tears from her eyes using her long sleeved white shirt. "Shut up, you don't."

"I think we're a lot similar than you think. Remember the Ultimate girl people have been talking about?"

"The one you're simping over? Heh, yeah...I mean who wouldn't know her at this point."

I ignored her smart remark and replied "I want to do my best for her, but I know I have to do better. I've been thinking about ways to get into the main course myself just so I can at least be up to her level."

"Well good luck with that, you're not the only one in the reserve course who's trying to make it into the main. You're just a small fraction of the entire population in this building."

"Then what makes you think you have a better chance of getting into the main course?"

Natsumi raised her head from the ground full of students and looked up at the sky. "Because of blood. Fuyuhiko is my brother. Peko isn't blood but she still was close to the family. It is my duty to get into that school as well. I actually have a certain someone in mind to make "disappear". And then I'll be able to head to the administration and plead my case to be in the school as a student."
