Loralie and I didn't even get to leave the hospital before a massive squad from both her family and mine are out the front waiting for us. I am at least grateful they waited outside and didn't make matters worse in the hospital.

I move in front of Loralie, making it clear we won't be separated this time without a fight. The back door of a large, blacked out limo opens and Victor steps out.

"Good to see you my boy. Finally come to your senses I see."

I don't move or remark, I just watch his reaction. So far, he doesn't seem at all as angry as I had imagined he would be. Somehow, I thought there would be bullets flying at our reunion.

The sound of another car door opening and closing doesn't make me take my eyes off Victor, even when I hear the shrill rants of my mother.

"How dare you! Do you have any idea what you have put me through? What you have put us through?"

Her voice gets louder and louder as she continues her rant. I feel Zac, Lyncon and Adam before I see them. The anger I feel from Adam is screaming through the air between us, feeding the volcano inside me.

"ENOUGH!" The words are lose before I can stop them and how good they felt, clinging to this explosive feeling I let loose. I don't care right now. Fuck the consequences and fuck them. We are all very raw and this was a huge mistake on their part, and right now they are going to realise that.

"HOW DARE I? HOW DARE YOU! First you shove a bride at me and god willing I do find pleasure in her company, you then take my wife from me without a word or explanation after you find out my wife is pregnant with our child."

My mother tries to butt in, fury blazing across her defiant face, but I don't allow it. She will hear what I have to say even if I have to write it in my blood and shove it down her miserable sadistic throat.

"You will not speak till I am done!" I seethe in her face, shocking her with my audacity. Her eyes grow wide. She looks around her, waiting for someone to step in but no one moves. From the look of it Victor is letting this play out.

She steps back, obviously frightened. Happy with this, I continue. "After weeks of being apart we find our way together again and you don't think we will want to be alone for a while? I don't regret stealing time with my pregnant wife, and I certainly won't apologise taking a simple pleasure you have starved me of. Don't you dare speak to me of what you have been through. We have come back to say goodbye to someone we love dearly and I'll be damned if I will let you make this moment any worse. We will return home, but things will change. You will not separate Loralie and I, and I will not have you butting into my affairs any more. That was the deal you made with me, now isn't it Victor?" I say, turning my attention to him.

Victor smiles, "That was our deal indeed and you are right my boy. You have not done anything that any one of us would be entitled to. You are home, and you are both safe. I think we let things be."

My mother's face goes a violent shade of red, but one sharp look from Victor and she shuts down without a fight, storming off in a huff.

With one wave of Victor's hand the mass of people disperse until it is just the six of us. I don't move to thank him. I won't bow in gratitude for a simple freedom granted any normal man.

Victor casually walks to me and I don't move. It happens so fast I barely register it. He drops his coat off his shoulders and bolts at me, one almighty jab to the gut followed even faster by a swing to my jaw.

As fast as it happens, it is over. I manage to stay on my feet. I have no fucking idea how, but I do. For a seasoned man he is a fierce fighter. I would hate to go head to head with him in a serious fight.
