"No? You're telling me no?"

"Your contracts are not worth a damn and if they are found, I am best gone anyway. There is no reason for me to follow you now. Everything is gone. This is my chance to find something real."

"Like Loralie? You think that was real? You think that even if Loralie was alive she would love you?" Victor scoffs, "No one in your life cares about you without my say so."

That is it. My heart is broken, obliterated into a billion pieces. Any last vestiges of hope are completely gone. Lyncon, my friend, my brother, steps out, walking over to stand at Victor's side.

I don't understand. I don't believe it! No, this is wrong! I know Loralie loved me and I know Lyncon would never hurt me. We are brothers.

Victor seems to have made his point. The look on my face I can't hide and Victor is claiming his victory with a huge grin on his face.

I try to shake off this feeling I have. "Lyncon, what is the meaning of this?" I ask, stepping towards them.

Instantly and without a word, Lyncon has his gun trained on me, stopping me instantly. I look at Victor and scowl.

He only laughs at me. "This is only to teach you an important lesson, boy. Everyone is under my control. Every secret you hold is mine and if you stop fighting me I will give you this same power."

I sneer at Victor and take a defiant step.

Bang!

Lyncon fires a shot Infront of my foot in warning. I look at him trying to get a read from one of my closest and dearest friends but he gives nothing away. His eyes are cold and mechanical.

Shit, if this is true then I am fucked. Lyncon knows everything. He knows all of my secrets. If that is the case then I have nothing. Victor wins.

He said everyone closest to me is under his control. Does that mean Adam and Zac are under his control too?

I would give anything to go back even to last week when my friends and I enjoyed a laugh. Those times couldn't have been fake. They felt real to me.

I take another step.

Bang!

Another warning shot from Lyncon.

"We are brothers Lyncon. I trust you with my life. I love you like my own flesh and blood. I would give everything for you. I don't believe you would betray me like this."

I take another defiant step.

Bang!

Without hesitation or feeling in his cold eyes, he fires again. This time I feel the bullet sink into my left shoulder.

Victor laughs wickedly. "Such devotion to your friend but he is not yours. He will shoot you with every step closer to me you take. Stop this now. Let things go back to what they were Alexander, the days where you both were friends will still be as they were. Nothing needs to change."

"But they were not real! I want something real in my life! This bullet wound may be that, a bullet in my body but it is real and I am starting to think it is the only real thing I have ever gotten."

I step again.

Bang!

My left leg faults as he shoots a bullet into my thigh. Victor's demeanour changes. I think by this time he had hoped I would have changed my mind and come back to him.

I go to take another step.

Click.

I hear the sound of a gun being engaged ready to fire but it isn't Lyncon's. No! My eyes go wide as I watch Victor raise his gun to Lyncon's head.
