introduction

It was around 2pm at that time. Everyone was going out for break, the place was full of students who were rushing to get food. You were running a bit late since you were busy copying down the notes from your previous class. "Looks like i'll be skipping lunch for today", you thought to yourself.

"(Y/N), Hurry up!" Rico yelled beside you. Rico had been your first friend ever since you joined, she was a kind person even though she looked serious most of the time. "It's fine. You can go first", you replied, looking at her. "Really? then i'll go ahead" the girl walked out of the room yelling a thank you.

About ten minutes has passed and you were done. You packed up and decided to go to the vending machine since you always went there if you couldn't make it for lunch.

"LEVIIIIIIII" a brunette yelled running towards a rather short man. "What is it now?", the man said looking a bit annoyed. But he looked rather annoyed all the time. The brunette stopped their tracks right in front of him and smiled.

"How would you say if the person who got lower had to buy something for the one who got higher", They said grinning. They took out a test paper from their bag and showed it to the guy. Apparently they both just got their math paper back from the recent exam. The paper they held showed a mark of 93%. Pretty impressive for them since they were one of the smartest students in campus.

"Shut up", Levi replied, showing them the same test paper but with a score of 95%. "EHHHH??? Ahahah! It's a joke. I was just joking!" The brunette panicked seeing how they would be the one who would have to buy their short friend something. Truth is they didn't have enough money to buy food.

"Alright fine. Listen to this" They sighed, knowing that they still had one more way to ask Levi for some money. "I am actually very hungry right now and i have no more money left. How's that?! Don't you feel guilty about your poor friend who will have to starve for the rest of the day?", The brunette tried to do puppy eyes but failed miserably.

"Starve to death" Levi said. "WHAAT???!!" they yelled in shock. They started panicking even more. "Oh come on levi, we've been friends since forever, i can't believe you wouldn't even lend me some money to eat", they said, pouting.

Little did they know that someone else was with them. You just happened to be there listening to your two classmates there. You looked at the two. The brunette named Hange Zoe who wore glasses and had an eyepatch on their left eye. Rumours say that they accidentally hurt themselves during an experiment. Hange was usually a very outgoing and positive person, at least to you. Most people saw them as some freak who was crazy about science, able to talk about a new experiment they did for days without break. A little odd but you genuinely liked that about them. You never wanted to admit it but you have always wanted to be their friend at some point.

Looking beside them was Levi Ackerman. Even though the little guy always looked tired or annoyed whenever he was with Hange, he was always with Hange. Always listening to the things Hange had to say. You found that cute as well about those two. You couldn't really say this yourself since you weren't close with Levi but he seemed like an okay guy. He's scary and serious but he also looked like he has a soft spot for his friends, who were Hange and Erwin. You rarely saw Erwin since he was always busy with tasks.

You walked towards the vending machine as you heard the two friends still talking. You put in some money and pressed the button for your favourite drink. You thought to yourself "What if this is the time to talk to Hange? They're cool and it would be nice if you could have them as a friend" You bent down to take your drink and turned around, already making a decision. You saw the two looking at you.

"Hey uh i didn't mean to listen to your conversation but here's some money if you wanna eat today" you handed hange some money that should be enough to last them a whole day.

Hange just stood there, frozen.

Not knowing what to do, they just looked at you, surprised. You were confused and felt a bit scared. Were they happy? Were they mad? Were they shocked? Maybe the last one. A minute has passed and you two were still looking each other. One still shocked and one just waiting for an answer.

Levi looked at both of you and sighed. "Well that solves your problem for today, Hange." He said to break the silence. Hange finally snapped out of it, taking the money. "A-ah thanks for that! I'll repay you soon." They gave you a warm smile.

"Ah don't mention it." You gave them a small smile back. You decided to walk away since you felt yourself blush after seeing Hange smile at you.

Once you walked away, Levi looked back at Hange who had a slight blush on their cheeks as well. "What was that all about?" Hange ignored his question and pressed the button for their favourite drink.

"Oi Han—" "Do you think she'd be interested in being my partner....."

Levi has a confused look on their face when Hange stopped for a while. "...for our new project soon! Ahahah! Did i shock you there?" Hange teased, taking a sip of their drink.

"YUMMY!" they said loudly, walking away from Levi.

"Does that brat like her or something?"
