chapter 16 : stalker

Days have passed since my date with Jean. Nothing much happened, I just got to see more of him. Jean was such a nice guy but I just couldn't see him in that way but I'd love to hang out with him again. We really just ate, watched a movie and went to the arcade. The real problem was that I couldn't get in touch with Hange.

Yes, I should've seen this coming but I didn't expect them to fully ignore me. I'd at least want to talk to them for a while. I did try to make the first move but it was no use.. Hange would just act like I was invisible. I even tried asking Rico for help but the girl just said that it was my fault. It was but I just wanted to see the brunette jealous. I didn't want to admit it but I missed them.

[ HANGE'S POV ]

ARGGGHHHHHHH!! This is a nightmare! I look pathetic acting all jealous because (Y/N) went out on a date with Jean. I just thought that we somewhat had 'something' since we got really close but I'm guessing I was the only one who saw it that way. I'd love to talk to her again but I just couldn't bring myself to.. I just feel mad and walk away.

"Hange, is there something bothering you? You're always happy whenever you stay at our dorm"

I looked up at my blonde friend who was concerned about me. Erwin was always busy but he'd still notice if there was anything wrong with Levi and I. I sighed, crossing my arms. "If you saw your friend go on a date, how would you react?"

"I wouldn't know.. none of my friends go on dates"

Erwin..... it's fine at least he tried I guess. Ignoring (Y/N) was eating me up since she probably doesn't know why I'm acting this way. I should just make up with her so that we can go back to hanging out like we used to!

I pulled out my phone and searched for her contact name.

"Hey (Y/N), how was your date?"

"Hey (Y/N), sorry for how I acted lately, I just..."

Continuing after that word felt somewhat hard. What can I say as a reason to act like a jerk after she went out on a date? That I like her? Nah, I do like her but i'm sure these are normal things to feel for a friend.

"Hey (Y/N), are you free"

I give up. No matter what I write, I felt like it was wrong to send her that. Can't I just pray that her date with Jean was awful so that she'll come back to me and ask me out?

No, that's mean.. especially when Jean is my junior.

I couldn't really think straight right now, I just wanted to be with (Y/N). I'll just apologise for my behaviour.

"Hey (Y/N), sorry for how I acted lately. Is there any chance that we could meet-up? I'd like to talk to you in person?"

Way to go! You sound like you're talking to a coworker. If texting wouldn't work, what other way could I use to reach out to her? I'm acting childish now. I'll go to see her after class and talk to her about it.

[ (Y/N)'s POV ]

I am being stalked. This is not even funny. The second class ended I felt like someone was following me. I knew who it was but I just tried to brush it off. After I walked out of class, I felt the person following. Even when I wanted to go buy a drink. It seemed like they'd hide somewhere, acting like I didn't notice them. Was this how an actor felt? Having someone notice their every move?

After I finished my drink, I decided to go back to my dorm. Hoping that the stalker was gone but looks like they weren't. If they kept following then I might as well try to found who they were.

God, even if this stalker is trying to kill me or kidnap me, at least make them hot.

Sooner or later, I managed to hide behind a wall to at least make it look like I went the other way. I had some hand sanitizer spray ready in my hand. A bit weird, I know but it was the closest thing I had as a weapon since I can barely fight someone.

I heard their footsteps getting near. Just want to say that I love Rico very much even though she ticks me off and that I wish I could've talked to Hange for the last time. As soon as I even got a glimpse of them, I immediately started spraying them as I squeezed my eyes shut. "My best friend is a black belt in karate! You better get out!"

"(Y/N)!!!!! My eye! Owwwww"

Huh? They knew my name? I slowly opened my eye to see a crying Hange as they covered both of their eyes. "HANGE?! What are you doing here?!"

"I already have one eye left! I know I kept following you but could you not take away another one?!", they cried out.

"Stupid! Why were you following me in the first place?!"

I ended up bringing them back to their dorm where I was busy treating their eye. Hange was now lying on their bed, with an eye pack on their newly injured eye. Turns out the stalker was actually Hange... for god knows what reason. I sat down beside them. I kept thinking about how today I was planning to go shopping but then all this happened.

"Look, i'm sorry I sprayed hand sanitizer into your last eye but could you at least tell me why you followed me?"

The brunette beside me slowly sat up and took off the ice pack. They looked at me before looking at the ice pack they were holding in their hands.

"Easiest way for me to say it is... I didn't have the balls to walk up to you and talk"

"Hange... What the actual fuck"

"I wanted to talk to you! But I just couldn't exactly bring myself to since I felt scared".

"....Hange.. we've been friends for a few months. What makes you scared to talk to me?"

"....I just thought you'd wonder why I kept ignoring you but it was really because I felt....jealous seeing you on a date with Jean"

Mission Accomplished! I have succeeded but I didn't really expect to injure Hange in the process but I got there.

I just laughed softly at their confession. I placed my hand on theirs, looking up to them. "If it makes you feel any better, would you like me to stay with you tonight?"

Hange's cheeks flushed red as soon as I finished my sentence. It was always so cute seeing them flustered. They then nodded aggressively, smiling right after. "If it makes You feel any better, could you sleep beside me tonight?"
