chapter 14 : crush

"You're so pretty..."

I felt Yelena lean even closer than before, closing her eyes. I tried to inch back a bit but there was no more space behind me. I felt uncomfortable. Not only did we just meet, the woman in front of me was trying to kiss me as well. I couldn't exactly try to escape so it was either I went with it or pushed her off.

"Excuse me."

My eyes widened to see Hange who was crossing their arms. The brunette looked rather furious looking at Yelena and I. Looking back at Yelena, she backed away from me to give me some space. She cleared her throat, fixing her tie as well. I tried to look away from the both of them since I'm sure they were looking at me. Yelena just smiled and looked at Hange.

"I don't think we've met. The name's Yelena. You?" She reached out her hand to Hange who gladly took it. A smile was plastered over Hange's face. "Hange. Hange Zoe." I could see how tightly Hange was gripping onto Yelena's hand. I immediately stood up, fixing my clothes. "I-I'll go excuse myself"

As soon as I walked away, Hange grabbed my hand. They yanked me and walked off to somewhere a bit far from where we were. We stood silently at the corner. Still not letting go off my hand, the brunette fixed their glasses before saying "Is this who you are now? Kissing people you just met?"

I get that they're mad but what was the reason? Even if I was about to kiss Yelena, why did they make it as if it was their problem? I still had many questions along with when did they arrive. I didn't dare to look up, seeing them angry already made me want to pee my pants.

I felt Hange's fingers on my chin, lifting it up so that I was looking at them. "Eyes up here. Now, answer the question, Dear", they said as if to mock what Yelena said earlier. Did they listen to what we were talking about?

"Hange, I'm not like that.. I just couldn't do anything in that situation but thank you for somewhat saving me", I tried to sweet talk Hange so that they wouldn't be that mad at me. I just heard them scoff instead, letting go of my face. "Anyways, when'd you get here? Did you come with someone else?" Hopefully changing the topic would make them fine a bit.

"Don't try to change the topic. We went out quite a lot of times and never have you tried doing that to me. Only with Yelena, huh?" What? They sounded like they owned me. I'm aware we went out just a couple of times but did Hange have to act so protective? Maybe as friends but this felt like something else.

I tried to brush it off. "Hahah you sound like you own me or something, Hange", I slapped their shoulder softly. Their expression made them look even more mad. Hange just chuckled lowly, trapping me against the wall.

"Do you want me to own you? That way you belong to me and no one can ever touch you like that"

What?! God, Hange you're going to be the death of me. Is this their way of showing that they're protective of their friends? I didn't want to lie but Hange looked really attractive talking like that. I thought that I should tease them more for it.

"Okay? Make me yours then"

Hange raised their eyebrow, their smirk growing even more. "So that's how you wanna play it". They tried to act cool but the blush on their cheeks was starting to grow even more red.

"Oi, Hange"

The voice coming front beside us startled the both of us and made us look at the source. It was none other than Levi who had his arms crossed. Hange backed away before rolling their eyes. "What is it now?"

"Well, I have news for both of you. Erwin told us to be back in ten minutes, four eyes. And for you" The young man said looking at me. "One of your friend—"

Out of nowhere, I felt myself getting hugged from the back by someone. Someone who was extremely tall yet buff. "(Y/N)~~ Do you... wanna check out my room later back at campus?", said a very drunk Jean. I looked up at him as he gave me a smile with half lidded eyes. I almost forgot that I was with Hange and Levi.

"... That was what I was trying to say.. Jean here got wasted and tried to look for you", Levi sighed. I thanked him for giving me that info but now I'm trapped by Jean. I tried my best to push him off but it was no use. "Hey... maybe you can put me in my car~ please stay with me~", The young man said with a pout.

I just giggled at his action. Maybe I should bring him there and look for the others. Levi then said that he was going to leave because of Erwin. I looked at him as he started walking away. Suddenly, I felt Jean being lifted by something. My shoulders felt light again as I looked behind. I saw Hange who looked mad, carrying Jean on their side as if he was some pillow. They must be extremely strong.

"I'll take care of this mess. You just go——"

I interrupted the brunette by trying to carry him as well, putting his arm over my shoulder. I smiled at Hange and told them that I insisted on helping. The person just sighed, continuing to walk to Jean's car.

After we both put Jean in his car, we sat down in the car for a second to catch our breaths, well at least, me. It was a bit tiring trying to get Jean to the car since not only was he heavy, the party was still packed. Hange and I sat in silence for a while. I looked at the guy who soundly asleep, he was even drooling which I found kinda funny yet adorable.

"JEANNNNNN!!!!!!"

The car door opened revealing Sasha and Connie who was yelling for Jean. The duo sighed in relief after seeing Jean safe and sound then turned their gaze onto Hange and I. Hange then looked at me and looked back at them. "Hectic party, huh?" The brunette said, scratching the back of their neck.

"It really is.. I already said bye to Yelena so I'm guessing we can leave? Are you alright with that?", Sasha turned to me, I gave a nod in response. I was already feeling tired so it'd be nice to leave.

"Heheh.. thanks for carrying Jean guys! Don't tell him but he got drunk because he wanted (Y/N) to take care of him", Connie laughed as if I wasn't there. "Our little Jean boy has a bit of a crush on (Y/N)"

What the actual hell is happening.. the boy has a crush on me?

"Connie! You idiot! You seriously need glasses.. can't you see (Y/N)?!" Sasha smacked Connie head. Connie started apologising "Sorry sorry! Got a bit carried away hahah...." the guy laughed awkwardly. I accepted his apology, telling him that it was fine.

It wasn't fine. I just found out that a junior likes me... I've only met him... twice? This is gonna be awkward.

"Ahem.. I'll be going now", I heard Hange clearing their throat from beside me. For some reason, I could feel them staring at me. Hange walked away after Sasha and Connie said goodbye to them.

This didn't feel right. I chased after Hange, grabbing onto their shirt. Hange looked back at me, I couldn't exactly see their eyes because their glasses were shining under the night. I could tell that they were annoyed.

"What do you want" They said a bit harshly. I looked into the ground for a while before looking up to them. I didn't know the reason why I chased Hange, I just felt like talking to them before leaving. Maybe I just wanted to know why they acted mad towards me.

"You know, I don't have all the time in the world. Shouldn't you be with Jean? He'd definitely want your attention right now", they spat out.

Dang.. didn't have to be that mean.. Jean's a great guy but I felt nothing for him. I don't even know his last name...

"But i'd rather have your attention, Hange", I replied, holding their hands in mine. I gave a smile before Hange's face started heating up. They quickly turned their face, trying to hide their blushing. I oddly started liking seeing Hange flustered.

It somehow made me wanna do things to them just to see them like that.

"W-whatever it is, i'm still mad at you for hanging out with a stranger rather than me! We even went out but that's for later. I'm leaving!", the brunette puffed before running away.

What a dork.
