chapter 18 : dream

"Where the hell have you been?!?!", yelled a very angry Rico at the door, still in pyjamas and awful bed hair. I just chuckled nervously before entering our dorm, the girl still ranting about my whereabouts last night. "You know, I called so many times! I was afraid if you went missing, kidnapped, passed out somewhere or died! I was so worried I barely slept last night! Stupid! And suddenly you're-"

I on the other hand was picking out clothes to wear today, I only got to wash up at Hange's. Not to mention class was starting in an hour. To be honest, I felt so honoured hearing those words come out Rico's mouth. Rico truly does care about me.. how sweet of her.

"—what would I do without you?! I mean, you're my only close friend... who'll let me use their (insert favourite scent) body wash from now on?! or throw out the trash?!"

"..................Seriously.."

"Rico, i'm completely fine! I really appreciate you caring about me but I just spent last night with Hange", I pat her shoulders, reassuring her that she was just jumping to conclusions. I watched as her expressions went from scarily worried to.... one big smile? I raised my eyebrow.

"Forgiven! Now let's get ready for class!", she cheered, walking towards the bathroom.

"Wait what...?" "You should've just told me! So, what'd you guys do last night?"

"Not much...." It's embarassing to tell Rico about the whole hand sanitiser situation.... "I just..uh hung out with them and I spent the night, that's all"

Rico eyed me for a sec, hands crossing. I felt like a teenager getting caught sneaking out during late night. "Elaborate please",

"Rico, we have class. Let's go",

"Whatever, tell me what happens later, Promise?!"

"Promise!"

I dragged her to the shower since god knows when she'll go take one listening to me. Speaking of which, I should get ready myself.

Class eventually ended and it was time for lunch so the students were packing up to go. Going to the cafeteria, Rico, Petra and I decided to sit together. Coincidentally, Hange, Erwin and Levi were sitting a few tables across us. Hange and I haven't talked ever since this morning.
"Now that class is over, spill!", Rico glared, taking a bite out of her food. She had been pestering me nonstop since we started class.

"Well, Hange needed some help with something so I helped and later we fell asleep"

"(Y/N), I think you missed a few paragraphs", Petra whined. Rico nodded as well.

"What else is there for me explain? They just asked if I could spend the night and I said yes", I looked away. Rico and Petra slowly looked at each other. It was as if they were communicating with their eyes.

"I think you should at least consider the possibility of them liking you back, (Y/N).. I mean, you even slept on the same bed!"

...Wait a minute. I never told Petra about me liking Hange...?! "Are you kidding me?! Rico!", I glared at the girl. She stared at me, confused.

"So you do admit your feelings!"

Huh. What. "Hahah! I was just messing with you and look at you! How gullible", The ginger (?) in front of me laughed. "It was obvious, (Y/N)......"

"Very funny..... just no telling, okay?" I begged her, seeing how my secret went from one to another in less than a day. "You got that!", she replied, pretending to zip her mouth.

"Let's not forget that you accused me, (Y/N)! But anyways, Petra is right. Hange always gets so excited around you and we both realise how they get mad when you're with someone else",

I was having mixed feelings about this, did they like me back or did they just see me as a friend? It really is a mystery. Even if they knew about my feelings, I wouldn't want our friendship to go weird because of it. I was drowning in my thoughts without realising the two girls in front me chatting.

"The only time I've seen (Y/N) so concentrated was when she was trying to solve this math question before. She ended up having a breakdown because of it"

"But it's cute, don't you think? I feel like she'd go well with Hange. Hange is.. well... Hange but they seem to happy when they're with (Y/N)"

[ Hange's POV ]

I wonder what (Y/N)'s talking about. She seems so... dazed. Speaking of which, I should stop staring. I slowly look back before Levi interrupted me.

"Would you stop looking at her like a stalker?"

"Eh?! What! No! I'm just looking around"

Erwin looked at the both of us before murmuring something under his breath, "Yeah in one direction"

Usually I'd go eat with her for lunch but ever since last night.. I just felt flustered whenever I was around her. It's nothing bad or anything it's just that-

"Erwin, let's go. Class is starting soon", Levi said as he got up from his seat. The blonde beside him just nodded along. "Give me a minute, Hange you coming?"

"Ah yeah! Let me throw some trash real quick!", I quickly got up and headed to the trash can.

Throwing my trash, I turned around and saw a familiar face, (Y/N). The girl widened her eyes when we made eye contact. "Hange Hi!", smiling while throwing her piece of trash behind me.

I couldn't help but smile back. "Hey....." I nervously greeted, fidgeting my fingers. Why can't I say anything. I just wanna ask how her day is going to break the silence.

She just tilted her head, looking like she was waiting for me to say something. I sighed. From the corner of my eye, I saw Levi and Erwin. Oh shoot, they're waiting for me.

"Y-you look great today. Alright bye have a nice day!", I yelled before running away. God, this is so stupid! I felt like a 5 year old running away from his crush after telling them something dumb.

... I might just be that 5 year old now.

Whenever I saw her, I just couldn't help think about that stupid dream I had last night. That's definitely why I couldn't act normally around her.

It's not like I can just randomly tell anyone that I had a wet dream about her!

hello everyone 😅 i deeply apologise for the extremely late chapter, it took more than a month and i'm so sorry for that. i've been so busy with school, homework and exams that i couldn't update 🤕🤕 i'll try to update more!

also reading the ff back... i felt like i should change some things and it's nothing major, i just made (Y/N) more... open abt her feelings 😲 some more stuff but i'll work on it 💪🏻
