Chapter 13 Captain Hook strikes Edinburgh

 "You can count on me Sappy and Skyler," called Peter as he flew toward the second star to the right and straight on till morning. Skyler took the torn ransom note in his hands and narrowed his eyes. "I'm staying with you tonight Sappy, I want to protect you," said Skyler. 

A wave of uneasiness hit Sappy as she went back inside her cottage and Skyler followed. He had a sword at his side and a pistol. He was ready to protect Sappy from Hook's malice. But while he was guarding the door, a clink of a hook knocked him out. 

Sapphira had gotten out of her cabin boy clothes and put on a silver nightgown. She had just blown out the candle when the shadowy figure of a pirate landed in her bedroom. Sappy tried to scream but was gagged and blindfolded.  "Bring the ship down, you mangy dogs I finally got what I 've been looking for," sneered Hook "now all we have to do is destroy the town and head back to Neverland." 

Skyler woke up, he rushed back into the cottage but Sappy was gone. He looked out the window and saw a ship gliding in the moonlight. 

Sappy was on the main deck, her blindfold had been removed but her gag still covered her mouth. She had been stuffed into a barrel with apples,  She looked out of a peephole in the barrel when the second star lit up. "I've got a little surprise for you Peter Pan," she heard the sly voice of Hook.

 "Prepare to drop anchor," came the order, and before she knew it; she was out of the barrel and tied to a mast. "Mr Smee, roll that blasted barrel here so that I can make us a cabin girl out of that blasted peasant that we picked up in Edinburgh," Hook sneered. "And then we'll shoot that blasted Peter Pan out of the sky." 

"B-but captain," said Smee "oh aye, aye captain." 

"That blasted boy will be nothing but a notch in me, scabbard," Hook sneered as Smee took off the lid to the barrel an dumped Sappy out of the barrel. Suddenly Hook's red hat was swiped from his head. "Only in your dreams, Hook," a voice shouted. 

"Pan!" 

"I didn't know a codfish could talk, did you Tinkerbell?" Peter laughed unaware of the commotion the pirates were making with Sappy. "Blast him," ordered Hook. Sappy was thrown into the captain's cabin while Peter dodged the cannon balls. "So anything new,  you scurvy dog?" asked Peter remembering the ransom note Skyler showed him. 

"We're adding a new member to the crew, Peter," sneered Hook "I was keeping her in a tight barrel until now. I would have thrown her to the sharks but it seems I would like to have her join me." 

"You have Wendy!" Peter drew his eyebrows together and set a hand to his dagger "don't you or a friend of hers." 

Sappy was watching from the cabin window as a duel broke out between Hook and Pan. She ran to the door to bang on it. Ropes were suddenly cast onto Peter as he was thrown into the captains cabin. "Let me out, you fiends!" he shouted. 

"Peter," called Sappy running to his side. "Skyler tried to guard me but Hook came anyway." 

Peter looked at Sappy, who was untied and grunted "You alright Sappy?  Help me get out of these ropes if you can," he smiled cockily. Sappy found a knife and cut Peter's bonds. He crowed triumphantly and a mischievous sneer was on his face. "Now let's find a way out," he said.

Suddenly, Hook stormed into the cabin, Sappy hid under the piano and Peter took to the ceiling of the captain's quarters. As Tinkerbell was thrown into a lantern, "No more pesky children to challenge me, I shall get rid of that blasted boy tonight!" 

As soon as he left, a frightened Sappy emerged from the desk and Peter flew down to her side. Sappy managed to find the lantern and freed Tinkerbell who nudged her on the nose.  Determined to find a way out of this mess, Peter stepped toward the door and open it slightly. "Sappy, " he said gesturing to her come closer to him. "I think we can get out of here unnoticed." 

"But what if he comes back," Sappy said clutching her chest as she stepped toward him. Peter turned towards her "We're going to fly out of here, do you trust me?" he asked holding his hand out to her. Sappy nodded and took his hand, swiftly he opened the door and called "Try to catch me if you can you old codfish!" 

The pirates were alerted and rushed toward the cabin; Peter scooped Sappy up and took to the sky leading her away from the pirates.
