Chapter 16 Truth

After Aida and I finished working on those traps, we decide to head back inside the cabin and enjoy some much-needed comfort after this tiring day. We have what we call a nice dinner while the fire brings some nice light to the living room, which is getting darker within minutes.

Also, despite the appearance, both Aida and I are tensed, we're scared of what might happen to us, it might not get pretty, but we can't concede defeat now, It's either us or them, so we will give everything in order to fight. As I'm lost in my thoughts, Aida gives me a pat on my shoulder while we're both on the sofa, her legs are on my thighs and I decide to snap out of my thoughts and look at her.

"You're okay Dana?" She asks me, furrowing her brows.

"Yes, I'm okay, I'm sorry, I was just thinking" I answer her, in a surprisingly calm tone.

She sighs and her lips twitch into a small smile. "What about I change your mind?"

I giggle while caressing her legs. "What do you have in mind right now?"

As a response, Aida just slides her foot on my thigh teasingly, I gasp and watch her in shock. I was not expecting her to do this, I thought she wanted to maybe play a game of some sort, but Aida loves more mature games as I can see. I groan as her foot is getting closer to my core over my jeans and I let my head relax on the sofa as a small whimper escapes my lips. Aida continues to play with her foot until I can't take it anymore and decide to put on her legs on the sofa and I climb on top of her while she's laid down on the sofa, a smirk displaying on her mouth. We keep eye contact for a while until I lower down my head, Aida closes her eyes until our lips almost meet but I stop just before we can really kiss.

Aida opens suddenly her eyes and she pouts while I simply giggle at her, suddenly I feel her hands on the back of my head and we're both now kissing passionately, her legs wrapping around my waist in the process. Her lips feel so amazing on mine, when I start to kiss her, it's like time itself stops and we're both in another world, my hands stroke her neck gently while we keep making out on the sofa.

Our bodies feel so good together, we move in union like in a symbiosis, and the whole world is nothing during this moment, I start to sit on her chest to remove my shirt and throw it in the living room, I get back to kissing my lover as I feel her hands exploring my bare back. I groan in her mouth as she finally unclasps my bra to expose my breasts as I sit back, sliding a hand in my long hair. I arch my back as I finally feel her slender fingers on the valley of my breasts, teasing me while I bite my lip in anticipation.

But suddenly, something twitches in Aida and I feel her hands leaving my body, a look of concern in her eyes. I furrow my brows, not understanding why Aida is suddenly acting like that. "What's wrong my love?" I ask in confusion, stoking her cheek while searching in her eyes what was going on.

She sighs heavily, before replying, with dull eyes. "I need to tell you something important, Dana, it can't wait anymore, it's been on my mind for too long, I can't keep that to me now."

I nod in a worrying way, preparing myself for what she's about to tell me, it seems like it's ridiculously important. We decide to sit back in our previous positions on the sofa while I decide to put my shirt back on, the mood having clearly drifted from our initial moment. I decide to be cross-legged directly facing her, with my head tilting on the side while Aida is taking a deep breath.

I break the ice and try to comfort her with a hand on her shoulders. "You can tell me anything, I'm always here to listen you know?"

Aida's lips curl into a little smile before she gets back to being really serious. "Okay it's about how we met, you know when you helped me with my horse, and I told you that I fled the city because of scavengers and all those gangs?"

I quickly nod without interrupting her, wanting to know more about what she wants to say.

"Well, it's more complicated as that, I didn't come all the way north here with my horse for no reason, yes I wanted to leave the town, but I told you I simply escaped, like I was all alone all the time, well it's not true actually."

I raise my eyebrows at her while she starts to play with her hands, showing evidence of nervousness at her confession. Why did she not tell me this before?

"So, yeah, Dana, I don't know how to say this but..." Her lips are now wobbling and tears start to fall down her beautiful eyes.

I can't watch her like this and I wrap my arms around her softly, rubbing her back while she keeps sobbing in my shoulders. She quickly decides to pull back and keeps eye contact with me before telling me with a trembling voice.

"Dana, those guys who attacked us before, I knew them... "

I gasp in shock and confusion at what Aida says, realisation struck me immediately and my eyes widen, my hands start to shake uncontrollably before I reply.

"What?!! What do you mean you knew them ?!"

Aida sighs while looking down. "Yes, I was part of their clan before I decided to leave up north."

I can't even form words as she finally tells me this and I stand up from the sofa, tears filling my eyes and I run upstairs in the bedroom while I hear Aida screaming my name. I lock the door and decides to lay down on my bed with numerous dark thoughts filling my mind.
