VALENTINA'S MIND WAS MADE UP. SHE WAS CONFIDENT IN THE DECISION THAT she had just made and she just hoped that her resolution would stick when she saw him again. She was going to give him what he wanted. He didn't want a relationship, right? Then, she wasn't going to give him one; she wasn't going to give him anything. Which included just a "good fuck".

Since there was nothing she could do that would make him also magically get hit with a love arrow, she decided she needed to get rid of her own. Step one of removing it: ignore your partner, that term used very lightly, and try and get over them.

Her parents were coming back home today, and that automatically meant Dominic would also be at her house, and so it was a perfect day to begin the process, her resolve still firmly intact.

Before the devil on her shoulder could convince her to change her mind, the doorbell rang, signalling that someone was at the door, and that it could either be the people she dearly missed or the man she didn't want to miss. And it turned out that life wasn't working in her favour nor was it on her angel's side.

"Valentina."

Dominic stood at the doorstep, as relaxed and confident as ever. As if he hadn't just rejected the girl the day before and wasn't worried that he'd hurt her feelings in any shape or form.

Valentina simply nodded at him and widened the door to let him enter without having to make any contact with her. The hazel eyed girl watched carefully as he looked her over, while wondering over to the couch.

The silence between them was deadly, neither of them daring to be first to speak up. Dominic opened his mouth to speak up, only to get interrupted by the front door unlocking.

"Sweetheart! We're home," Valentina heard her father call out, and she stood up, brushing down the skirt she was wearing, in attempt to look presentable.

Nicholas placed his suitcase to the side, rushing to pull his only child into his embrace. "Gosh, I missed you," he whispered to her, kissing her cheek before going over to Dominic, shaking his hand while patting him on the back. "Thank you for this my friend."

"Of course, anything for an old friend."

"Hope my Valentina wasn't too much trouble, that you disciplined her if she were."

Dominic smirked, making eye contact with Valentina who looked down under his intent stare. "Trust me Nicholas, she didn't get away without a punishment." He told him, his eyes still on Valentina.

After greeting her mother, both her parents sat down explaining all the business parts of the trips to the man opposite them. Discreetly, Nicholas was observing his daughter's and Dominic's odd behaviour.

"Dominic, may I speak to you!" the older man announced, getting up and straightening out his suit, leading the younger man into the hallway.

"Is everything well? Why has Valentina been glaring at you the entire time since we've arrived back here?"

Dominic awkwardly laughed. "Oh, she was just being a brat again. Asked me out and I rejected her."

Valentina's father sighed. "She thinks we don't know about her little feelings towards you, but it's too obvious. I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable, Dominic."

Shaking his head, Dominic replied, "It didn't make me uncomfortable — your daughter is a beautiful girl, any man would be lucky to marry her one day. I just wondered why I have to keep rejecting her."

"Excuse me? What did you just say?" Nicholas questioned, his tone significantly angrier.

"Nothing, sir," was all the younger man exclaimed, before he entered the kitchen to find the alcohol.

"Why did you lie to my father?" A hurt voice spoke from behind.

Dominic glowered at the bottle of whiskey in his hands, feeling the girl cautiously trail closer to him, like a hurt deer. "What did you expect me to do? You were making it so obvious with your pitiful expression."

Valentina choked in a sob, feeling her heart break at how careless this man was acting towards her. "Well, I'm sorry, Sir, for behaving so pitifully." She wandered further away from him and it made Dominic's eyes widen. Was she afraid of him?

Valentina continued without letting Dominic respond. "You won't have to deal with me and my bratty ways, anymore. I'm done with this shit between us, Dominic. I'm done. You don't need a girl who's just a "good fuck", do you? I'm replaceable. I'm just another notch on your bedpost." She took in a deep breath. "So, I'm done. Find another girl to fuck. Goodbye, Dominic."

Without a look back, she stalked off, not allowing a single traitorous tear to fall. Sometimes when cupid made a mistake, you had to pull the arrow out. No matter how much it made you heart bleed.
