Asgard

Y/N had been staying in Asgard for a while now. Thor had explained to his father that she was a close friend of his that needed a place to stay for a while. Y/N and Thor had grown suprisingly close during their time in Asgard together. Thor was like a brother to her, and he was far more funny than he seemed. Y/N never really concerned herself with his father. Odin was not fond of a mortal staying in Asgard, said she didn't belong there. But after Thor suggested that Y/N could be an ambassador for earth, he silently nodded to his guards who led her to her room. His mother was always sweet to her however. On this particular day. She sat in her room, in the castle. Wondering how she had gotten so far in life. Thor was gone, he had went back to Earth. Y/N didn't mind, she simply took in the sunrise and looked over this beautiful planet. So prosperous, so perfect. She was jealous that she wasn't born here. There seemed to be no suffering, no injustice, just hope and happiness. Y/N wondered if her memories would have even existed to haunt her so if she was born on a place like Asgard. The only thing she hated was the ridiculous outfits, but she supposed she could get used to them.

The gold of the morning had settled, and Y/N was now sitting on her bed. Reading. It was an Asgardian book, about myths and legends. All of it seemed a bit surreal to her initially, but her mind stopped naming things as surreal when she realised she was actually on a different planet, and not a different country. She had just finished reading about Frost Giants when the doors to her room opened simultaneously. There, stood Frigga, smiling with a bowl of fresh fruit in her hands.

"Good Morning, Dear. Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, Very. Thank you for the fruit, that is very kind of you."

"Of course Dear, Not a worry at all. How's that scar of yours healing up?"

"Um, Okay. There's still a mark there." Y/N placed her hand where she had been stabbed by Loki just a week before. It seemed a lifetime ago, but due to Asgardian medicine. It was already healing.

"Ah dear. I am sorry for the pain my Loki caused you. I don't know what forces took over him to make him think so irrationally."

"It's okay, I wouldn't have taken the Job if I couldn't handle being stabbed by tiny knives."

"I still find it strange that he didn't kill you. Loki knows where to hit someone fatally. To Kill them. No matter the size of his weapon"

Y/N couldn't stop the memory of Agent Coulson appearing in her head. Dead after an encounter with Loki.

"I'm not sure why he didn't either." she replied.

"It makes me think, that perhaps he wanted you alive. The only other time I see him stab to injure, rather than to kill. Is when he fights with Thor."

"I don't think it's that. He was probably was just a little disorientated after I kicked him in the face."

Frigga giggled.

"Right dear I better go, enjoy your breakfast. Make sure to call for me, if you need me."

"I will, thank you." Y/N said as Frigga left the room.

That night, all Y/N could think about was what Frigga had said. Could Loki have stabbed her to only injure her intentionally? Perhaps he wanted, or needed her alive? She knew that he had no humanity after killing Coulson. He was not the type to spare lives and he had plenty of chances to kill her that day. Y/N hated the place that her mind wanted her to go. To find answers. She hated that man. Yet, was so drawn to him. When the idea to visit him in the dungeons implanted in her brain, she couldn't get rid of it. He couldn't harm her. One visit wouldn't hurt. It was just for answers. Y/N's bare feet touched the cold stone floor and started walking in the direction of the door before she even came to a solid decision in her mind. The silk, flowy nightgown she had been given to sleep in, draped behind her as she reached out for the door handle. She took a deep breath before opening the door and closing it softly behind her to ensure no noise. She had a general idea of where the dungeons may be. Her best bet was to head down, most dungeons seemed to be in the basement. And she was right. After walking down many flights of stairs, and hiding around walls as squadrons of guards walked past she reached a large archway with beautiful designs chiselled and carved into the stone. There stood two guards at the archway, guarding the entrance to the dungeon.
Y/N didn't know if she were allowed to visit prisoners. She didn't know if she could just approach them and tell them that she had to speak to someone. Perhaps distracting them would be a better idea? Y/N looked around her for resources, something to aid her quest. There was a pile of pebbles conveniently on the ground across from her. She lowered herself down, to ensure she wasn't seen and crawled across the floor to reach the pebbles and upon grabbing one. She threw it in the opposite direction of herself. The drop of the rock echoed throughout the large room, which was then followed by the clashing of steel armour running towards the source of the sound. Y/N took this as her chance to run past the guards whilst they were distracted. Upon entering the dungeon she ran further around the corner, so the two guards wouldn't be able to see her when they returned. She looked around her. The cells were filled with all kinds of monsters and beasts, all sleeping. Peacefully. Well, at least she hoped they were. She continued to shuffle quickly through the hall, quietly as possible. So no one knew she was there. Unfortunately, someone heard her. Someone did know. Their voice spoke out to her.

"Y/N, it's late."
The voice was deep and rugged. The same voice that replayed over and over in her head, late at night as she tried to forget her past. The same voice telling her. She couldn't run from it. The same voice telling her, she was a monster.
"Loki."
"For some reason, I had a feeling that you'd come."
"Did you?"
"Yes, I believe you wouldn't have agreed to come to Asgard, if there wasn't some part of you that was still intrigued by me."
"No part of me is intrigued by you."
"Oh really? Then why are you here? What do you wish to know of me."
"Well, I was speaking to your mother."
"She was talking about me?" he seemed shocked.
"Yes. She mentioned something. That had me thinking."
"Whatever did that woman plant in your brain about me?"
Y/N thought for a second, before answering. She didn't want to embarrass herself by stating that she thought Loki wanted her alive for some reason. So she decided to go with a better approach.
"Why did you do it?"
"Do what?" he asked
"You know what. Why did you do it. New York. What was the reason? She told me that you were a sweet boy, and that she didn't know why you acted like that. What was the reason?"
"The reason!!? The reason?? Perhaps it was the fact that I had been lied to my entire life. Perhaps it was the fact that I was always second to Thor. Perhaps it was the fact that no matter how hard I tried to be good, Odin could never give me as much love as he gave Thor."
"That's not a reason to start a war with a planet of innocent people?"
"No it's not. Those were just the reasons I let go. But after I let go. I landed in a world of immense torture and pain. My mind started doing things I couldn't control. I had to act the part so that they did not kill me."
"Oh really? You attack an entire planet and now you're facing the consequences you blame some other perpetrators. Some big bad villian that was using you?"
"I know how it sounds. But it's the truth."
Perhaps it was. Perhaps that was really the reason that he didn't kill her? But no, he still violently murdered Agent Coulson. There had to be another. She had to know more.

"And why didn't you kill me?"
"What?"
"You had the chance to, Multiple times. You could stabbed me anywhere but you chose somewhere that wasn't fatal. You could of strangled me to death but you let me break free from your grip. You had the power to kill me, easily. I'm mortal, you're a God."
"And? I just wanted to have some fun with you."
"Fun, you could've avoided getting stabbed and kicked in the nuts, but you wanted to have Fun?"
"Don't make me admit it."
"Admit, admit what?
Loki walked closer to the glass. He looked Y/N in the eyes. His were a bright blue colour, his face was perfectly chiseled. He looked like a God, perfectly crafted from Marble and given the perfect details. He rested his hand, in a fist, on the glass. She remembered the feeling of them around her neck. She couldn't stop the feeling she felt as he stared at her, as if she was his prize.
"I think you better leave he said."
"Loki."
"Go. Before I call on the guards." He whispered. He turned away from the glass and started walking back to his bed in the back of the cell."
"I'd like to speak to you again."
He stopped and turned to look at her.
"I'll request your presence tomorrow. Stop you having to sneak down here."
She smiled and then quickly scolded herself for showing him affection.
Her visit to Loki left her with more Questions then she had before. What was he so reluctant to admit? Had he really been forced to perpetuate the events of New York? Whatever he had to say to her tomorrow, she knew that she had now seen him in a different light. If he had really been through all of that trauma and hurt. Was she really one to judge him? Perhaps they were more similar than she remembered. Both had a past they regretted and wished to escape from. She seen the regret in his eyes, in the water that escaped them. She would know the truth eventually. She promised herself.
