The next day, Thor had returned from Earth. He had brought yet another Human which made Odin very angry. Y/N believed her name was Jane Foster, her and Thor were romantically involved it seemed. Y/N waited all day for a Guard to show up and tell her that Loki had requested to see her, but he never did. She decided it were time to take matters into her own hands, and so she followed the same route she had the night before down to the dungeons. The Guards were there again, there was too many of them to sneak in again like she had last night. And so she tried the obvious option. She approached the door and simply stated that she wished to speak to Loki. The Guards stepped aside and let her pass.
That was easy she thought to herself, and then she felt like an idiot for the ridiculous plan she followed to sneak in the night prior. She walked through the dungeons, the prisoners all had their eyes on her, she wasn't alone this time. She avoided meeting their stares and followed the same path until she reached Loki's cell.
"You made me wait." she spoke.
"Yes. The thought of you waiting around all day for someone to come asking for you, made me laugh." he replied.
"You are truly mischevious."
"I'm not called the God of Mischief for nothing dear."
"Don't call me that. Now, cut your crap Loki. You said you were gonna give me answers."
"Feisty one you are."
"Loki, don't make me hate you again."
"Again? What do you mean again. Has your opinion of me changed recently?"
"I mean, once I heard, everything you've been through. I guess you could say, I felt kinda bad?"
"Really?" he seemed very surprised, almost happy.
"Don't tell me that was a trick too."
"No, it wasn't. Odin never loved me as equally as he did Thor. I tried to wipe out the Frost Giants, to make him proud, he used to do the same thing, wipe out populations and planets to retain peace on Asgard. But instead he scolded me, praised Thor. And so I was hanging onto my spear, over the galaxy below. Thor had the spear in his hand and he reached the other out to me, telling me to take it. But I didn't want to. I didn't want to live in Odin's kingdom, with his unfair rules and his lack of love for me. So I let go. And when I did, I was found by this mad titan who tortured me into doing his bidding. He tricked me, he said I could have everything I ever wanted, a throne on earth, if I got him the tesseract. I was stupid, and so I agreed. He gave me the sceptre, the same one he used to play tricks on my mind. He could monitor what I did, as long as I had it, and so when I realised the extent of my actions, and when I wanted to stop. I couldn't, because he would kill me if I betrayed him."
"Loki..."
"I tried to relate myself to you, and Natasha, and Bruce so I felt like less of a monster. So I could make everyone else feel as bad as I did, deep down. I couldn't stop it, but I wanted to. And now I'm stuck here for the rest of my days. 4000 more years or so."
"I never knew. I'm sorry."
"But you, you were strong and resilient, you didn't fall for my tricks."
"No, Loki. I haven't stopped having Nightmares. My past is regrettable, and so is yours it seems. But it's never too late to change the course of your life. To do good, to make up for the bad."
"Well, I don't have a chance to redeem myself if I'm stuck here."
"The time may come, you never know."
The two shared a sweet silence between them for a few minutes, before Loki chose to break it.
"You want to know why I spared your life?"
