[One week later]

"Ehhh lame! I want to go to internet café today." Hyunjin whines.

"Go there by yourself." Seungmin sticks his tongue out before dashing out of the class with Felix. Being a council member, they are assigned to survey some food vendors for the upcoming spring festival.

Not having any intentions to go home yet, Hyunjin goes back to his seat, slumps his upper body down onto the table. He then averts his gaze to certain spot, sighing. Another week of school, another week of pretending to be Jisung’s rival.

Yes, pretending.

Frankly speaking, he doesn't know why that word perfectly fits the situation he's right in at the moment.

But, one thing for sure, a week ago, he finally realizes that the reason why he has been so excited over having a battle with Jisung to win Minho's heart is mainly because he too at the same time hopes this stupid rivalry can make them close like they used to.

"--llo? Excuse me?"

A sudden knock on the classroom door brings Hyunjin back from his thoughts.

"Can we use the class for practicing?" A girl asks. "The group next to our extracurricular room is so noisy but we need to discuss something important today." She smiles apologetically.

"Oh sure yeah. You can use it."

Exiting the class, he decides to just go home. But then he sees Jeongin standing in front of teacher's room.

"Waiting for someone?"

The boy, who is playing with his phone, looks up. "Yeah, I'm waiting for Jisung.. Our homeroom teacher asked him to meet him after school since Jisung keeps coming late for almost a week now."

Following Jeongin's gaze, Hyunjin sees the said boy is being scolded by Mr. Shin. Once his gaze lands on the squirrel like boy, he cannot take his eyes off of him.

And Jeongin notices.

"Stop eye-fucking my best friend." He teases.

"Okay.. Wait! I mean, I wasn't!"

"You're a terrible liar." The younger snickers.

At that, Hyunjin rambles his lame excuses to deny the fact.

On the other side, Jisung has been allowed to leave the office. But as soon as he sees his best friend is with Hyunjin, he instinctively ducks himself, cursing no one as luck isn't on his side that day.

Still ducking, he then makes sure to exit the office without getting caught. Then when he is safe enough, he fishes out his phone and texts Jeongin, asking him to leave the school without him.

Jeongin's phone vibrates.

As Hyunjin is still rambling, the younger checks the message, sighing since he has waited for nothing.

"I'll go home now. You should too." He interrupts the older.

"Huh? But Jisung?" He turns his head only to find another student is being lectured instead of Jisung now.

"He comes late to school to avoid me, doesn't he?" He asks no one since Jeongin apparently has already left him seconds ago.

On the other part of the school, Jisung secretly watches Hyunjin's every move. No matter what, he'll make sure they aren't going to accidentally meet each other on the way home.

"Are you sure you hate Hyunjin?"

The squirrel like boy lets out a strangled scream. His hands are balled into tiny fists, ready to square up. But he lets his defense down as soon as he recognizes the voice owner is Minho.

Finally finding a way to escape Hyunjin, he desperately asks, "Hyung, please help me!"
