Chapter Twenty-Nine
I woke up, my face sticky from tears I cried before falling asleep. I yawned and got out of bed stiffly, still in my dress from last night. I was about to take a shower when I heard my phone buzz. I grabbed my clutch off the floor from beside my bed and looked for my phone. By the time I had my phone in my hand, it'd stopped vibrating. I checked the caller. It was Drew. I scrolled through my phone, seeing twenty-three missed calls from Drew and thirteen texts from him. My phone vibrated again. Another call from Drew. I tossed my phone on my bed and took a shower.
"Aynsley?" Grady asked, knocking on my bedroom door.
I wrapped myself up in a towel and stepped out of my bathroom. "Yes?" I called.
He opened my door and walked in, stopping when he saw me in a towel.
"Your mom wants you to come to the store with me to get stuff for dinner. Apparently you and I are cooking tonight," Grady explained.
"Okay. Give me ten minutes," I said.
"Okie dokie," Grady said, leaving my room.
I slipped on my undergarments and walked into my closet. I wasn't about to do anything extraordinary so I settled for a white tank top from Forever21, a red short-sleeved crop top from A'GACI, dark blue Diesel skinny jeans, and red patent leather Tory Burch ballet flats.
I came out of my closet to find Grady sitting on my bed.
"Waiting on you," Grady said, pointing to his wrist.
"Okay, okay," I said pulling my hair up into a ponytail.
I grabbed my Chanel bag and tossed my vibrating phone inside.
"Ready?" Grady asked me.
"Yep," I said, walking out my bedroom. "Let's blow this popsicle stand."

"What do we need to get?" I asked, walking with Grady side-by-side.
"I don't know," Grady said, pushing the shopping cart. "Whatever we're making."
"What are we making?"
"I don't know."
"You don't know?" I scoffed.
"You don't either!"
"Okay, okay. What if we just bought a whole bunch of ice cream sandwiches?"
Grady laughed. "Appetizing."
"No doubt. I don't feel like cooking tonight."
"Same here," Grady groaned.
I sighed. "Might as well get it over and done with, right?"
"Right."
"Okay," I said, hopping up onto the side of the shopping cart. "We need to this quick and we need to this now."
Grady laughed. "Listening, captain!" He saluted me.
"To the pasta isle!" I chuckled.
"Off we go!" Grady announced.
We spent a little more than an hour in the store. Most of the time we were just playing around. Having fun. Why couldn't it be like this all the time? We were in the checkout line, when the cashier said something that made my heart stop.
"You two are just the cutest couple!" squealed the cashier.
I froze, my eyes widening. Is that what we looked like?
