Chapter Seventeen
I woke up a few hours later, still snuggled under Drew. I got up quietly and slowly, as not to wake him up. I took a quick shower and changed into black tank top and short yellow cotton shorts from Forever21. I looked in the mirror, touching the hickeys on my neck. I grabbed some make-up out of one the drawers and applied a little concealer swiftly. I examined my neck.
It was good enough for now. But I would keep my hair down, just in case.
I figured Drew would be hungry when he woke up, so I ordered pizza. I didn't know what he wanted to so got two pizzas: one with half pepperoni and half cheese, and the other pizza half sausage and half extra cheese, ham, chicken, and bacon - my favourite.
As soon as the pizzas arrived, drew woke up. I heard him as he came into the kitchen.
"Sleeping beauty," I said and gave Drew a kiss.
"Awake at last," Drew said. "Pizza?"
"Yeah. Nice variety, huh?" I said.
"Yeah," Drew agreed.
"Grab some slices, I've got a movie for us to watch!" I said putting three slices of pizza on my plate.
"Cool," Drew said. He found a way to fit six slices onto his plate.
Drew followed me upstairs back up to my room. He sat on my bed, his legs outstretched and I sat next to him, criss cross apple sauce style. I grabbed my remote and turned on the movie.
"What movie is this?" Drew asked, already on his second slice of pizza.
"Number three on my top five favourite movies list."
"Well what are the top five?"
I purposely waited through the previews and a minute or so when the movie started.
"In order from number one to five: Titanic, Monsters Inc., Easy A, Mean Girls, and Jeepers Creepers."
"I've been dying to see Easy A!," Drew yelled excitedly.
"Well today's your lucky day," I smiled.
After the movie was over, it was a little after ten at night.
"I guess I should be going," Drew said getting out my bed.
"You don't have to go," I said.
"Do you want me to stay that night?" Drew asked, a smile playing on his lips.
"Only if you want," I said, kissing Drew softly.
Drew smiled. "But I don't have any clothes."
"I'll be right back," I told Drew.
I quickly ran to Evan's room and grabbed clothes for Drew to sleep in.
"Here," I said, tossing Drew the white T-shirt and grey sweatpants I'd grabbed for him.
"Thank you," Drew said, giving me a peck on the cheek.
He disappeared into the bathroom and while he was showering I allowed myself to think about everything.
As cliche as it is, if being with Grady is so wrong, why does it feel so right? When I'm with him everything feels so natural, and calm and easy. But was that really worth losing my mom over?
Drew is really nice, not to mention adorable. But am I really satisfied with him if I keep going back to Grady? How could do all of this to Drew, after everything he's done for me? How did I have the heart to Drew this way? Treat my mom this way?
Grady and I know the difference between right and wrong. We can distinguish the two, but we can never make the right choice. It was like we were stranded on a deserted island and had to choose between a boat or coconuts, and we chose coconuts everytime.
Drew came out the bathroom, his shirt, pants, and hair, a little wet and laid down next to me.
I kissed him on the cheek and couldn't help but notice his scent.
"You smell like my fruity body wash," I said laughing.
Drew looked embarrassed. "That was all you had, but at least my skin is silky soft!" Drew said with a straight face.
I continued to laugh. And laugh. And laugh.
The Drew kissed me softly, no doubt to shut me up. But it was still sweet anyway.
I ran a hand through his hair. "You could have just asked me to be quiet, you know," I said.
Drew chuckled. "That would not have been as fun. See?"
Drew kissed me again, soft, just like before. This time I didn't want to let go. I grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer. Then I decided to just take his shirt of altogether. I gripped his skin, pulling him closer. He kissed me on my neck, where Grady had.
Where the hickeys where.
I paid no attention, I wanted to distractions. As Drew's lips carressed my jaw I shivered, throwing my head back.
Then I felt Drew stop suddenly.
He touched my neck.
"What's that?" Drew asked.
"What's what?" I asked innocently.
"That, on your neck. It looks like a hickey," Drew confirmed.
"Oh," I said.
"Who put it there?"
"You, silly."
"When?"
"Just now, duhh," I said kissing him on his chest. "Stop being so rough with little 'ol me."
Drew chuckled and relaxed, so I guess this put him at ease.
"Good one. I think I'll make another," Drew said as he kissed my neck.
I tried to ignore the lies that kept rolling off my tongue.
