Chapter Forty Four

"Can't you run through his number plate to check his location or something?" Jungkook asked the policewoman.

The BTS members, their manager and five police officers were gathered in a room in Bighit entertainment. The police officers had arrived fifteen minutes ago. They were already informed about the situation prior to their arrival to Bighit by Sejin.

"Yes, Sir. We have already asked our tech guy to do that. He will go through the cameras near the traffic signals in the places nearby the Seoul National University and see where his car had passed through last. It will take some time though, Sir." The policewoman explained to him.

"God damn it! It has already been more than half an hour since she left the University with him." Jungkook shouted angrily.

"Calm down, Jungkook. Getting angry is not going to solve anything." Yoongi put his hand on Jungkook's shoulder.

"Sir, we have already sent out search teams looking for Ms. Jadeline. I am positive we will find her very soon." A policeman reassured Jungkook.

Jungkook went to the corner of the room and sat down on the floor, leaning against the wall. He closed his eyes and tried to calm himself. He was holding his phone tightly in his left hand hoping to get her call, hoping to hear her voice, hoping to know that she was safe. Seoul was a big city, she could be anywhere.

"We found the vehicle. It crossed the traffic signal at the west end of the Nakseongdae-ro two minutes ago. The vehicle seemed to have stopped and parked on the side." A police officer informed everyone present in the room.

Jungkook immediately stood up from his earlier position, an expression of hope had taken over his earlier sombre face.

"Then what are we waiting for let's go now." Jungkook insisted the officers and members.

Jin put a hand on Jungkook's chest to stop him from walking.

"You are not going anywhere Jeon Jungkook. Many people are looking of her and these officers are more qualified than you. Let them do their job."

Jungkook removed Jin's hand from his chest and replied to him.

"It's Jade, Hyung. I have to go."

"I will also go with you all." Namjoon told the officers.

"We will go too." Taehyung pointed at himself and Jimin.

"Nope. No. No way are you both going. I put my foot down here. Only Namjoon and Jungkook will go. The rest of us will be waiting here patiently for them to return back safely." Yoongi stopped them from joining the others, Hoseok hummed in agreement.

Jimin pouted slightly but understood where the elder members were coming from so he kept quiet and agreed with them.

"Sir, we do not know yet if the suspect is armed with a weapon or not. So, it might not be safe for you both. We will be taking four different vehicles so that we can surround the suspect's car from all sides. I will ask you both to please listen to me and not do anything that might cause harm to you or Ms. Jadeline." The chief of police explained to Namjoon and Jungkook who nodded in agreement with him.

"I don't think this is a wise decision Namjoon and Jungkook." Sejin gave his opinion to them. He did not want to outright stop them from going there because he knew that tensions were very high amongst them due to the severity of the situation but he was worried about the BTS members.

"I don't think there can be any argument about this, Sejin Hyung. She is my little sister. We can't just sit around and wait." Namjoon replied to him firmly.

The police officers and the two members left the building together.

"I am calling for back up. We need back up in Nakseongdae-ro, in the case of the University girl. I repeat I am calling for back up. I need five more officers in two different vehicles to meet us at the east end of the area. The suspect is near that area."

The chief informed and updated the people at his police station. The chief of police, the two members and another officer were in one vehicle. Another police vehicle was close to them, following right behind their car.

Jungkook's mind was making up all types of situations. Most of them were for the worst. He took several deep breathes to calm himself down but nothing was helping. Namjoon on the other hand was on call with Bang Pd Nim.

"No one is going to recognise us. We are wearing masks, sunglasses and ball caps. Don't worry about all that now. Yes, we will not do anything stupid, we will follow the protocols given to us by the chief." Namjoon said to him on the phone.

After cutting the call he put the phone in his pocket and turned his attention to the scenery outside. It was late morning on a weekday in Seoul. The roads were mostly empty due to people being at their workplace, school or occupied somewhere else. He felt something heavy fall on his shoulder.

Jungkook had put his head on Namjoon's shoulder.

"I love her, Hyung. I did not even get the chance to tell this to her yet. Please tell me everything will be alright. Whenever you say this to me even my biggest of worries go away."

Namjoon stroked Jungkook's cheek softly and wiped away the tears that were falling from his eyes.

"Everything will be alright."

Jungkook looked around from the car window when they neared Nakseongdae-ro. His eyes were wandering all over the place searching for her.

The back up that the chief had asked for had joined them. The blazing sirens were shut off a little over two miles ago so that they would not alert Namyun. The police vehicles had slowed down.

A person was rushing straight towards their car, it looked like a girl but Jungkook could not be sure, she was running quickly, too quickly as if her life depended on it. She was not looking ahead instead she kept turning backwards, it felt as if she was running from something or someone.

"That's Jade. Stop the car. Stop it now." Jungkook shouted at the police officer who was driving.

Without waiting for the car to stop Jungkook stepped out from the vehicle. For the first time since she had started running Jadeline glanced in front of her and stopped.

Jungkook was here.

He came forward towards her and embraced her.

"It's okay. You are safe now. I've got you, baby."
