Blonde Kim Namjoon is superior.
Jadeline had the worst week of her life. Her first love, her first protector, her first mentor, her first hero was no longer with her. She had never felt more alone and had it not been for her Namjoon Oppa she would probably have taken her own life as well. What was left in this World? She only had two people, her parents and with them gone there was nothing left for her here. What would she live for? What life will she have now? Who would cheer her at her convocation? Who would give her away when she got married? Whom would she look after when he became older? Who would give her advice?
She had her entire life planned around her Dad. And now without him everything just felt meaningless. She felt her heart physically ache when they buried him. How was life supposed to move on? How did the pain go away? She had so many questions but no one to answer them.
Her cousin had been a huge support throughout but he would eventually have to leave. He was a celebrity idol and had a very busy schedule. She will have to get her act together and understand that this is how her life would be from now on. She had applied to Columbia just like her parents but now she no longer felt the need to go there or do anything for that matter. She did not even feel like eating any more. For so many years it had just been her and her dad.
It was nearly midnight when she felt a knock on her door.
"Come in." She murmured. In came her Namjoon Oppa with a plate of burger and fries.
"You did not have dinner tonight as well Jadeline. This can't go on, you need to eat Jaejae." He set the plate on her side table and went to sit beside her on the bed.
Jadeline did not cry at all since it all happened. She knew she should have but she could not feel any tears come out of her eyes it was as if her eyes were completely dry. She had only been staring into nothingness, eyes wide open, void of any emotions.
But in that moment she could not hold it in anymore. She wanted to be brave and grown up about it all but with her brother there she just could not hold it in and so she started crying her heart out, her sobs were loud and could be heard clearly through the room. Namjoon held her to his chest and stroked her hair comfortingly. He felt his own tears softly fall down his cheeks.
"I am right here kiddo."
They stayed like that for minutes or maybe hours before she calmed down a little. He gave her a glass of water and made her eat dinner before turning the lights out in her room and leaving for his own.
After another uneasy night's sleep Jadeline woke up by 8 in the morning and went downstairs. Namjoon was already there scrolling through his phone.
"You must be missing a lot of work right Oppa?" Jadeline asked him. She felt guilty for it.
"Nothing that important. Don't worry about it." He smiled towards her and kept his phone down. He went to make coffee for himself and her to the kitchen.
"When are you planning to go back?" She asked him taking the cup of coffee from his hands.
"Actually I had to talk to you about that." He sat on the couch opposite to her and put down his cup on the table in front of him.
He took a deep breath before starting.
"I think you should come with me."
Jadeline was confused when she heard this.
"For like a vacation?" She asked.
"No like permanently."
"What? How can I do that? My entire life is here."
"I know that but hear me out. There is no one here with you now Jadeline. And I cannot leave you alone in a country which is thousands of miles away from where I live. It is not safe. I have thought about it enough last night. It is the best scenario right now."
Namjoon explained to her.
"But I cannot just pack up my life and leave with you." Jadeline argued.
"You can always come back later on after college or something. This house will still be there. I promised Samchon to look after you Jadeline and I will not let him down."
"Where will I live? Where will I study? How will I earn?"
"You will live with me and Seoul has some really good Universities. As far as earning goes you do not really have to earn just focus on your studies for now." Namjoon told her.
"I have a college fund and some more money left behind by Dad but it will not last very long if I do not earn." Jadeline said.
"I earn a decent amount of money Jadeline." Namjoon laughed lightly.
"I cannot take money from you Oppa." Jadeline replied sternly.
"Yes you can kiddo. What is the use of me earning so much money if my family cannot live comfortably? Trust me it won't affect my pocket in any way. Just think about it."
She nodded slowly. They both drank their coffee and went into their own deep thoughts.
"You will like it there. It is a beautiful city." Namjoon told her excitedly.
"What will Aunty say?" Jadeline was nervous about her Aunt's reaction. She was her Father's sister who had not talked to him in years.
"Nothing. This is our decision to make." Namjoon would take care of all that. He would not let something like that stop his cousin from living a happy and healthy life. She had not even been eating regularly when he was here he could not even imagine what she would do without him.
"Okay. Let's go to Seoul."
