Valorie's Pov
still 10 years ago (maybe Alex pov?)

While I was sitting in bed getting no thoughts at all I heard the landline downstairs ring. Maybe it was Alex? Saying goodbye?

"Hello" I answered the phone
"I- I'm sorry Valorie for not telling you I thought it would be just harder if I told you"
I could hear him cry. I think his mom was also there telling him to say goodbye.
"Hey Alex it's fine I can understand why you didn't tell me"
"I'm still gonna say sorry"

"Hey if sorry is all you're gonna say I'm gonna put down the phone"
"Wait no I'm also here to say goodbye since we never know when we'll see each other we might not even see each other "
"Goodbye Alex I hope you remember me," I said with silent cries
"g- goodbye Val- Valorie I'll miss you" I could hear that he wasn't holding back his tears anymore
"I'll miss you too Alex" I still held back my tears. I thought it was embarrassing to cry in front of him.
"I guess this the end Val"
I guess it is, I thought to myself.
"Goodbye Alex"
"Goodbye Val"
We both said in unison

I ran to my room trying to make the least sound possible. I cried there. I was in this position again. Sitting down on my bed. But this time you had thoughts. "What if we don't see each other again?" "what if it is the end?" I fell asleep.

I wake but this time it wasn't sunlight going into my room it was mom.
"Hey Hun I made you breakfast it's your favorite"
"Thanks, mom"
"Welcome Hun"
I ate through my breakfast which was pancakes with strawberries in a minute. Then a thought came into my head.

Alex is moving today.

I quickly ran to the window that overlooked my, and soon to be not Alex's backyard. The windows and lights were still open.

"Thank god he's still here,"
I quickly ran downstairs and asked mom.

"Mom, can I say goodbye to Alex?"
"I- Hun if your sure you won't get sad"
I paused for a second.
"Yes, moooom," I said in an annoyed voice. Mom saw me going to the front door.

"HEY HUN GO THROUGH THE BACKYARD"
"OH YEAH THANKS MOM"

I ran through the backyard into theirs. I saw Alex inside the living room.
"ALLEEXX"

He turned around confused about who was calling his name. Then he saw me.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE?"
"SAYING GOODBYE"
"OUR PLANE DOESN'T LEAVE UNTIL 6 PM SO COME INSIDE"
"OH ok"

I went inside using the glass door.
"Hey, what's up?" Alex asks.
"Yeah just wanted to stop by and say goodbye but looks like you're not leaving. Well Yet"
"Yeah well flight's in 8 hours so I've got plenty of time"
"Yeah that's great" I chuckled, I knew it was going to be harder to say goodbye if I stayed there.

"I'll get back home and be here in 7 hour-"
"Wait stay here let's have fun at the park while it lasts"
"Oh i- Uhm sure"

We both stood up from the couch and walked towards the door.
"Ladies first," Alex said while tilting his head at me.
Well, I have to at least make these last hours memorable.
"Thank you, good sir," I laughed while bowing.

We were at the place where we would start racing.

"I feel like I can beat you today"
"Getting confident huh?"

We both started running while laughing. I saw that I was in the lead by a little bit so I started to slow down. Alex won.

"I  told you I was gonna beat you," I said while catching my breath.
"Yeah yeah don't get all cocky, please"
"Yeah sure fine"

We both laughed it off for a little while.

"Wanna go on the swing? no one's on it so we can go at the same time" Alex said, his voice still raspy from laughing.

"Highest swinger wins," I said while running towards the swings. We swung, or if you could say, competed on the swings for a while until Alex won.

"See you can never beat me on swinging maybe for running you can, but not swinging"
"Yes fine king of swinging," I said while bowing.

After 2 more hours at the playground, we both got tired.
"Hey let's head back home and eat or something"
"I would love that," I said in an exciting voice.

We walked back to his house since it was the closest.

 
"I'll get back home see you in 5 hours" I waved at him goodbye.
"See you," he said while also waving goodbye.

I went inside the living room and plopped down on the couch
"I thought you were saying goodbye," mom said.
"well his flight is in 5 hours so he wanted to have fun while waiting"
"Well ok then when you meet him again tell him I said bye"
"Yeah sure mom"

I wake up.

"What? I don't even remember falling asleep" I mumbled.

It finally hit me that Alex was leaving in a few hours, or so when you fell asleep. I check the clock on the wall. It said 4:53 pm.

I guess this is actually goodbye now.

I walk back into the backyard and into his house.

"Hello? Alex?"
"Oh hey Val" Alex answered my call for him

"Hey"
"Are you coming to the airport?"
"No, I don't think I can," l said while a little chuckle fell out of my mouth.
"Oh yeah no ones gonna drive you there and back"
"Well mom says goodbye"
"Tell her I said goodbye too" I swear I could see a tiny drop of tears fall out his eye, I wasn't going to call him out though, or else I might copy him. Out of nowhere, he hugged me.

"I'm gonna miss you Val don't you dare forget me" I hugged him back
"Hey I could say the same but I won't forget you don't worry" I hugged him tighter knowing this might be the last time.

"Hey Alex we have to go or else we'll miss the plane" Mrs. Alex laughs.
"Goodbye Val"
"Goodbye Alex" finally a tear made its way out of my eye.

I could see them get into the car and drive away.
This was the last time I ever got to see him.

a/n: I want to clear some things up first. One, no they can't call because "the landline doesn't reach theirs or the landlines aren't compatible" something like that, and two, they both grew up independent so that's why they seem mature but still play at the playground or park. Just wanted to clear that up since you guys might get confused:))))
