Lee Kimberly passes through pain from losing her best friend to suicide, blaming herself for missing her calls that day. But maybe she can regain her happiness. Step number one: find her killer.

Kimberly was sitting quietly at an isolated table at the school cafeteria when she suddenly started to think deeply about Jiwon's situation.
Kimberly POV:
'I just can't assimilate how Jiwon, my long-time best friend Jiwon, would suddenly give up. Why would she have called just for that? Then, why would she scream from the other end? it sounded like she was being chased or something. Wait, her phone! The hospital couldn't find her phone. She only had her clothes, she didn't even have her backpack on her. Her phone and backpack are missing.
I should go to the rooftop. Even if I'm scared, I have to do it, for Jiwon.'
3rd person POV:
Kimberly put her plate away then runs to the stairs that lead to the rooftop. When she was only one floor away, she hesitated. She thought maybe it was better to let it go, but she knew that's not what she wanted. She kept walking until she reached. She got to the rooftop door and the lock was broken. Someone had forced it. She entered scared of what she would encounter. She looked around hoping to spot something unusual, but when she did, she panicked.
"What are you doing?!" She screams when she sees someone standing on the edge of the rooftop. The guy turns around gripping with two fingers a cigarette, and Kimberly recognizes the familiar face.
Tears fill up her eyes, "Park Jongseong, what are you doing there?!"
"I was just thinking... relaxing. I don't even know why I'm explaining myself, it's none of your business. And it's Jay." he answers coldly after a few seconds. Kimberly could tell that that was not what was happening. She could see it in his eyes. He was burdened, he was suffering, he had fear, he wanted to give up.
"Please get down from there." Kimberly pleads desperately crying, a new side Jay saw from her.
Jay gets down, throws the cigarette, and walks towards her confused by her despair. He stares at her with his emotionless face then walks away, down the stairs. Kimberly's heart was still beating fast. She is scared. Jay reminded her of Jiwon. Kimberly drops on her knees sobbing once he was gone.
Once Jay was out, he wonders why she was so desperate to get him off there. Even though he wanted to comfort her crying, he wouldn't know-how.
A few minutes go by when Kimberly suddenly gets up. She then left the rooftop promising herself to come back another day, when she was braver. Just like she would go back to that one building.
She kept looking down and made her way to her classroom but once again she bumped into someone. 'I should really learn how to walk looking down without bumping into people' she thought. She continued to look down but this time she mumbled, "sorry" to the person she had clashed with.
"Lee Kimberly?" That person calls her name and she was certain of who it was. Kim Hyunwoo, her ex-boyfriend and Jiwon's current boyfriend, if she were alive.
"Hyunwoo. Hi," she says then tries to walk but is stopped when he grabs her wrist. Now her back was facing him.
"Ho-how are you?" He asks in a concerned voice. After all, he was Jiwon's boyfriend and previously hers, meaning he saw first-hand how inseparable they were.
"I-I need to get to class," Kimberly says quietly trying to get away from him. She somewhat felt guilty to face him. Even though she wasn't the one that pushed her off or made her do such a thing she knows that she could've been the one to save her.
"Kim I want to talk to you about Jiwon." He says tears filling his eyes. Kimberly was not facing him but he could tell she was crying.
He lets go of her and says, "Kim don't cry, do you have work today?" Kimberly shakes her head. "Then, can you come to the cafe later? After school?" She nods her head so Hyunwoo leaves and she continues to walk.
She makes sure to clear all her tears and walks into her class with her eyes still looking at the floor.
3:53 pm, Let Me In Cafe
After school Kimberly makes her way to the café Hyunwoo had mentioned. They would always go to that cafe. Them 3, Jiwon, Kimberly, and Hyunwoo. She was really hesitant to walk in there. She kept walking back and forth in front of the front door, biting her nails. "You look like an idiot." a familiar voice said a few steps from Kimberly.
'Why is he everywhere?' Kimberly asked herself. She rolled her eyes and said, "none of your business" and finally went in. She wanted to slap herself for mindlessly going in but since Hyunwoo had already spotted her, she decided not to and walked up to him.
"Hi." they greeted each other.
"Here I got you your favorite." Mint chocolate milkshake. Hyunwoo wore this face as if hoping to lighten the mood. Kimberly slightly smiles in response and took a sip.
"Look Kim I wanted to talk to you because... I know you're hurt and I know you need someone. Jiwon was more of a parent than your real dad so I know you must feel worse than I do... I just hope that we can comfortably go back to being friends. I really want to be there for you. So, I'll be here." He says in a soft voice.
Kimberly slightly smiles at him with tears filling her eyes. They spent around 2 hours talking, crying, and laughing until Hyunwoo had to leave for some family business.
Kimberly didn't feel happy but didn't feel as sad as she did before. She knew she would have to move on one day, but that day would not come soon. She knew she needed someone else to lean on. She didn't feel it was right for Hyunwoo to be that person but he was the only one offering and that really knew her besides Jiwon.
