A/N: It's been so long. I've given up on having a schedule for this. I'm also sad one of my favorite readers are nowhere to be found. @sseoulhi i hope you are okay.
On a separate note, BLUESIDE T-T Hobi you glorious piece of love! I am still crying over it, it's my favorite Hobi track and holds so much meaning to me.
Thank you those who are still reading, but I want to see the end of this even if no one is there.
This one is a little heavy so enjoy yourself!
Love,
MsNoShelfControl.
-----------------Yoongi's POV------------------
I saw his curious eyes follow her as she walked away, and it made me more uncomfortable than I'd imagined.
"You seem particularly interested in her," I noted out loud, immediately drawing his eyes back to me.
"Interested? Hyung, please," He laughed, a hint of nervousness seeping into his voice, "I'm just a little thrown off by how... generous she was."
It bothered me too. I turned around to see her figure disappear into the crowd, a dull ache pulsing in my chest.
The painting she'd just given away to Namjoon was one that I knew well enough to be very personal to her. I'd found her sleeping next to it in her small studio at the apartment many nights, brushes still grasped in her tiny hands and splotches of paint decorating all over her face and clothes. Too many were the nights when I'd feel her slip out of bed when she thinks I'm asleep and work on that specific painting.
Most of those nights were when she'd wake up panting in a cold sweat, eyes filled with tears of a nightmare she never speaks of.
She never told me about it, but she didn't need to. I hear her cries of help while she's trying to escape the unforgiving claws of her subconscious. I hear the name she sobs out with anguish.
Those were the nights when I'd get to hold her. I'd hold her with every single one of my walls down, letting her tears fall onto my skin as I provide her with the warmth she was unable to ask me for. I'd hold her until her body stops shaking and her breaths even out.
And then I let her go when she stirs. I'd pretend to be asleep on my side of the bed as she wakes up, wipes her tears and walks out to her studio where I'd find her with the painting the next morning.
Why would you give away something so precious to you?
"Why do you think she gave it to me, hyung? Are you guys that close?" My eyes flitted back to Namjoon who looked even more perplexed than I felt. His question sent a wave of apprehension rolling into my stomach.
"You must've impressed her with your interpretation," I say, taking a sip of the champagne in my hand, needing an out from this suffocating discussion.
"I've been to many exhibitions and no one's ever done that for me," I could hear the awe in his voice and it sickened me for some reason.
Four years of being together and I'd managed to keep Jieun hidden from the rest of my world. To have it all come crashing to the ground simply because one of my best friends decided to take an interest in her is something I could not stomach.
"Careful there, Joon-ah," I twist my voice into a teasing tone, "Someone might think you've got a little crush."
My heart sank as I saw him flush a deep red, confirming my suspicion. "You know I don't have time for that," He mumbled, looking all around us nervously.
