I felt weird as I pecked her lips that last time. Even after I exited the room and found myself in the empty hallway I could feel the burning sensation spreading through my whole body. I leaned against the wall, suddenly feeling worn out.

It seemed like the only thing that kept me going was my concern for Belle, and now that it was gone I found my body shutting down quickly under the pressure of fatigue. I heard some noise coming from downstairs, recognising the voices of my family members.

I groaned and closed my eyes and pushed away from the wall, determined to get to a free room quickly so I could finally get some sleep. Unfortunately for me, things don’t always go the way we plan. Sid came rushing around the corner, almost knocking into me.

“Ash?! Where is she?! I heard she was hurt! Is she okay?! Who attacked her?! Did you kill that idiot or are you still looking for them?! How did you find them?! What was she doing outside anyway?! Were you the reason she was there?! Did you upset her?!” She stopped to take a breath and used the chance to put my hand over her mouth.

“Shut it, sis, she’s sleeping. And trust me, she had a tough day. What are you doing here anyway?” I wondered, looking at her with confusion. She rolled her eyes at me and knocked my hand away. Putting her hands on her hips.

“What do you mean I should shut it? So what if she’s sleeping, she’s in the other house you idiot.” She paused for a second and gave me a death glare. “She is isn’t she?” I could see the concern in her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by something that I couldn’t decipher, something much more ominous.

“Ummm, she’s in my room.” I mumbled and her eyes went wide.

“What in the fuck Ash?! You know that’s against rules! What are you trying to do to her? Get her in trouble?! How in the fuck did you get her there in the first place?!”

I growled menacingly, finally getting her to shut up. “She was too hurt to get to her own room. So I simply let her sleep in mine. Don’t worry, Maddie is with her.”

She sighed and closed her eyes, rubbing her templates. “God, you guys make a lot of mess every time I’m not around. Even three years ago, I don’t go to your damn birthday once and she got banished.” She huffed frowning at me.

I growled again and glared at her. “What are you doing here anyway? Answers! Now! Or else I’ll escort you outside!” I threatened, but the only effect my words had was that she made a pouty face and stuck her tongue out.

“I’m here to see you idiot, duh! Don’t you remember the families have right to visit the Alphas in order to see how they’re doing and if any girl caught their eye after the first couple of days?” She asked me as if I was the stupidest person on the planet, which probably I was.
