Chapter 9

Ashton

It was finally time for me to pick Lilly up for our date. I had to admit I looked forward to seeing her. She was so far turning out to be a perfect date. And she seemed to get along with Belle great, which was one of the main things that finally got me to acknowledge I liked the girl.

I only got to talk to her for a second after her visit to Belle though. She dashed to her room faster than a bullet. I literally had to chase her only to be shooed away from her room. I have to admit though, the look of excitement on her face made her look even better.

I knocked on her doors and was answered by a short 'coming'. I was already starting to get nervous after five minutes of waiting. Maybe she didn't want to go out with me? And God knows I was never the guy to force a girl into a date.

I was just about to ask her if she wanted to stay in her room for the night when the doors came wide open. I was dazed, to say the very least. She looked amazing in a silver dress that hugged her body just enough to show off some of her features but not to be right out flashing, and the touch of red on the silver background had an amazing effect.

I was pretty sure I looked like an idiot as I gaped at her with my mouth open. She blushed and giggled under my stare, offering me her hand. I finally snapped out of it and grinned, claiming her hand and softly kissing it, earning more giggling from her.

“I don’t think I can take you out now.” I said with a theatrical sigh.

She looked up at me confused, if not a little worried. “What’s wrong?” She asked in her honey-like voice, and I felt like tasting her lips just to see if they were as sweet.

“If I take you out for a date all of the guys would look only at you. Think of how the other poor girls are going to feel.” I said, keeping my face completely serious.

She looked taken a back for a second before blushing wildly and looking down. She murmured ‘thanks’, all of her previous courage seemed to sap away.

I chuckled and pulled on her hand, leading her away from the safety of her room and into my territory. She was still slightly blushed as we finally walked onto the fancy balcony. Tables with light candles and roses were scattered around, on the perfect distance from one another, offering us just enough of privacy.

We were the first to arrive, and I quickly led her over to the one closest to the low fence of the balcony, knowing that we would later watch the tests I wanted the best possible seat, not like any of them was bad.

I let go of her hand only for a second, drawing the chair for her and offering her the seat. She blushed and took it. As soon as she was seated I got hold of her hand again and took a seat myself, drawing closer to her.

One of the butlers immediately dances over to us, it was a girl in her twenties. She smiled at us politely and offered us the menu.  I let Lilly order first, and then told the woman to bring me the same thing. I added red wine and ice-cream for desert before I focused my attention back onto the beautiful creature next to me.

She was wearing her down that night, and as we waited for the food I played, twirling her hair around. I wasn’t really up to talking as we listened to the soft sound of orchestra that was playing on the smaller balcony under us, Alphas really didn’t spear any money for that event.
