Chapter 30

Isabelle

The days passed in a blur of fun moments will Maddie and nice alone time with Ash. I noticed Blake was getting a little closer to Lilly though. She really was a shy girl and I think he’d be good for her but if she hurts him all bets are off and shy or not, I’ll hurt her. Blake had stopped trying to woe me but kept flirting and messing around just to annoy Ash. Cam was strange though, and so was Annabelle. They kept looking at each other whenever they were in the same room but when I pointed this out to my cousin, she hit me, said nothing but slapped me upside the head and waltzed off. Cole was well Cole. He was opening up at bit, not the sly guy I’d first met. He was actually pretty sound and I knew for a fact that Jessie was head over heels for him. Maybe that feeling was return as I caught him smiling at her from time to time.

Right now Maddie was raiding through her wardrobe for a dress since it was our turn to begin our dates with the boys and watch group two go through the exams.

I was on my bed relaxing in a pair of sweats and tank. “Why are you dressing up? You’re going on a date with Ash.”

“So?” she turned holding up a dress and gawked at me. “You are not going on a date with my man dressed like that!”

“You know that sound completely wrong, right?” I asked sitting up and grinned. “But if you insist. Though I don’t see the point, I mean he’ll only have eyes for you.”

“Same goes for Ash but that’s not the point! Woman get dressed!” She snapped as the door opened.

“Wow nice to know who wears the pants in your relationship,” Jessie mused waltzing in in a cute purple dress with a scoop neck line that fell to her knees.

“Piss off,” Maddie snapped.

I don’t know what happened between the two but they’ve never gotten on, at least not while I was around and that suck royally because I liked Jessie.

“Make me,” Jessie taunted before turning to me and chuckling. “I see you’re not going to try.”

“Why should I? I mean my date won’t even look at me,” I replied standing and stretching.

“Then make her date drool,” Jessie replied stabbing a finger at Maddie who flounced into the bathroom after giving her the middle finger.

“Alright,” I sighed and she grinned.

“I’ll leave you to it then,” She gave me a hug before walking off.

I propped my hands on my hips, looking into my open wardrobe and pulled out a simple yet elegant lilac dress. Holding it against my body I glanced at myself in the mirror and nodded before shrugging out of my clothes and slipping into the dress. It was snug and fell to mid-thigh. The neck of the dress wasn’t low, keeping it modest and it had two think straps with no sleeves. I chose a pair of white pumps and a white cardigan putting them on before going over to the vanity and adding some light eye shadow and mascara along with lip-gloss.

“Shit.”

I turned at Maddie’s mutter and looked her up and down. She had chosen a black dress that fell to mid-thigh and clung to her more so than my one. Hers was strapless and she’d thrown a leather jacket over it along with black ankle boots. My friend looked like a rocker with her dark make-up and ruffled hair.

“I want you to change,” we said simultaneously and grinned at each other.

“If Reece leaves me, I’ll kill you,” Maddie mock growled.
