I snapped my eyes opened after getting an elbow to my chest. I gasped for air and sat up straight clutching where I was hit.

For a moment I had forgotten where I was until I got another elbow from a struggling Eve who was still fast asleep next to me. I didn't take all of it this time but it still hit it's mark.

She was mumbling words I couldn't make out but one name was clear, Sage. She kept calling him over and over again.

The nightmares was nasty and I could tell. I placed my hand on her shoulder to wake her and her whole body was trambling, I drew back my hand freaked by it.

My own breathing was shallow and my heart was in my throat. It wasn't even my nightmare but I was terrified.

Again, I gently shook her calling her name and she shot up like she was chased and sat up straight.

Her eyes were wild as if she was under attack, she looked around and saw me. I think for a moment she didn't recognize me because she was mid panic but stopped. Her shoulders loosened up though she was still breathing shallow.

"Sweetheart." I called her very concerned and freaked up. This is the second time in a row she woke up sweating from a nightmare but tonight it was more intense.

I only wonder what she could've been dreaming about to make her react like that. The only word I heard was Sage.

She closed her eyes for a second and tried getting her breathing to calm down. She let herself fall back on the bed then covered her eyes with her hand.

"Eve." I called her again but she didn't respond though her breathing was somewhat getting back to normal but she was still shaking and not just shaking from cold but from being petrified.

I touched her and she flinched and I immediately drew my hand back. The shaking was not going away though like how her breathing became less shallow with each passing second.

I called her again this time she gave a response but not the response I was hoping to hear.

"It was just a nightmare." She said dismissively. "Just a nightmare Eve,calm down."

Again and again she repeated the phrase which had me even more worried like the shaking that wouldn't stop. It's like she was afraid in real life. Like it was way more that just nightmare. And each time she repeated the phrase, it's like she was convincing herself.

"Eve." I called her again but she suddenly got off the bed and walked, actually ran to the bathroom.

I frowned and sat up and leaned against the headboard. I snatched my phone from my bedside and looked at the time. It was a few minutes after two.

We slept for two hours, more or less. I sighed and waited for Eve to come back. She looked shaken up, more shaken up than last night.

I thought last night was a once off thing. She told me it was a once off thing but then again that's Eve for you. It pisses me off that she never tell me something that's bothering her straight up.

I always gotta find out like this. I actually thought the nightmare thing was an issue of the past. She told me it's been months since she has a nightmare but by now I should've guessed that was a lie.
