REIGN's POV:
In life, there are things and opportunities that we didn't expect to come. They're just like mushrooms, popping out from nowhere; that if you didn't grab that mushroom for you to eat, it'll grow and it'll be useless in the end. Just like chances and opportunities, if you didn't grab those, it'll be a big lose for yourself.
Given the opportunity for me to be part of Ditter's family is a great blessing. I treated them as my "boss" but they treated me as a family. Nyx might be cold and arrogant but I can see in his eyes the way he cared for me. I remembered that day when I almost burned their kitchen down just to cook eggs for Khent, he helped me and asked me if I'm alright...if I'm not hurt.
Being Khent's babysitter for almost 6 years is a big challenge for me to conquer. My parents must be proud of me because I did those for my living. Luckily, Nyx is there to help me.
I never regretted that Mrs. Teleonore came into my life. She stood as a mother for me 'cause she cared for me and gave me all my needs. I can see in her tired eyes the love and passion for her two sons...and for me.
She's now sitting infront of me, waiting for my answer.
"Uhm...parang ang tanda-tanda ko na para mag grade 2," I said with a shy tone. Ang bilis ng araw 'no? Grade 2 na si Khent and Mrs. Teleonore is asking me if I want to continue my study. Para na rin daw mabantayan ko si Khent.
"It's a big opportunity for you, Reign. Someday, magagamit mo rin ang mga napag-aralan mo. Ayaw mo ng gano'n?"
I rub my nape while my toes are sweating. "Parang kaya na naman ni Khent mag-aral mag-isa hehe. Siguro mag-re-resign na'ko as Khent's babysitter?"
Agad na umangal si Mrs. Teleonore, "No. Oh, no you can't do this to me, Reign. Parang naging anak na rin kita. Ayaw mo na ba sa'min?"
Medyo napangiti ako sa tinuruan ni Mrs. Teleonore. Kinikilig ako syet!
"Hindi naman sa gano'n hehe. Parang ang tanda na ni Khent para magkaroon ng babysitter? I'll apply as your housemaid instead." My eyes sparkled as I said those words.
"It's a big no, no for me, Reign. Kung ayaw mo sa inaalok ko, then be it. Huwag ka lang maging katulong. Besides, we can all do household chores, hmm?" She hold my palms that were situated on my lap. "I'll be waiting for your last decision, Reign. Nasa library lang ako mamaya."
My palms are sweating as I am heading to the Ditter's library when Nyx and I meet halfway.
"Where are you going?"
"Sa mommy mo, gusto mong sumama?" This time, hindi na 'ko nahihiya sa kanya. May times din na nahihiya ako pero in the end, nawawala rin.
"Yeah, sure...but I'll keep a distance from my mom." Napakunot na lang ako ng noo sa tinuruan niya pagkatapos ay sabay na naming tinahak ang daan papunta sa library.
"Bakit gano'n na lang ang galit mo sa mommy mo? Did she done something bad?"
Tumingin muna siya sa'kin bago magsalita, "Pinalayas niya si daddy. Pinalayas niya nang hindi pinakinggan and side niya. Six months palang si Khent sa tiyan ni mommy noon kaya nagpakalayo-layo na lang si daddy para 'di na-stress si mommy."
"Eh, nasa'n na ang daddy niyo?"
"I don't know. 'Di ko nga alam kung humihinga pa kaya siya. We used to be best buddies that's why I'm so attached to him." Tumingin na naman siya sa'kin. "Ikaw, anong pag-uusapan niyo ni mommy?"
"Why don't you ask your mother instead hmm?"
"Reign." Syet gais! Ang lamig ng pagkakasabi niya!
"Joke lang noe. Ayon kasi, inalok niya 'ko para mag-aral ulit."
"Hmm?"
"Then...this is now my final decision. Mag-aaral ulit ako kahit 'di tugma ang age ko sa grade level ko."
"Why continue studying? Infact, you'll be my queen in the future. "
"Huh? Paki lakasan noe."
"Nevermind. I'll wait for you here, go and talk to mom now." Siya na ang nagbukas ng pinto tapos tinulak niya 'ko agad.
Aish! Ano kaya 'yong sinabi niya?
Fast forward. Mrs. Teleonore was very happy when I accepted her offer. She'll enroll me tomorrow for this upcoming school year. Pareho sana kami ni Nyx ng grade level kung itinuloy-tuloy ko ang pag-aaral ko. Grade 7 na sana ako hayst. But then I'm sure, maraming mambu-bully sa'kin pag pumasok ako.
"What are you thinking?"
"Uhh...Sa tingin mo, mabu-bully kaya ako o hindi? Tanong lang naman, pfft!"
"For me, yes."
"Ang samaaaa!"
"Pfft! You'll be bullied if you let them bully you. Learn how to fight for yourself, Reign."
B-bakit parang nanlambot ang puso ko? Mamaaa!
"Because not all knights are present during your needs...Hindi lahat ng oras ay nandito ako para protektahan ka."
"Huh? What are you saying, Nyx?"
"N-nothing, nothing. Just go to bed, goodnight!" he said while running to his room.
It took me 3 minutes to digest those words he said..."H-hindi kaya—gusto niyang mag-apply para maging knight in shining armor ko?"
Loh! "H-hindi kaya—may feelings siya para sakin?"
"Arg! Forget about it!"
