Patience is a virtue

I frowned at the damn male sin. I'd just admitted that I found him attractive and he runs off like a skittish virgin. I run my hand across my face. My late husband is probably rolling in his grave. I get up and pour myself more coffee and grin. At least I know how to get under his skin. I go to the table and am about to sit when a heated desire flows over me. My mouth drops open and I feel like I'm going to moan. What in the fuck is this shit. My skin is flushed and I run upstairs and pound on Wrath's door. He opened it a crack and looked down at me with a frown.

"Something is messing with my libido," I mumbled softly and he rolled his eyes getting ready to close the door in my face.

"Wait, it's not me, something is wrong with me, I had a weird feeling flowing over me," I say worriedly. He eyed me curiously and smirked.

"My sister Lust is causing it, go take a cold shower, it will pass," he says irritatedly and closes his door. I scowled at the closed door and kicked it with my foot.

"Tell your sister I don't need the extra boost I can turn myself on with my own thoughts," I yelled at the wood barrier. I can hear Wrath chuckling inside of his room. I stomped to my bedroom and looked at the time. I had to leave for work in twenty minutes. I dressed in my waitress uniform and french braided my hair. I yelled at Wrath that I was leaving for work and headed down the stairs and turned, seeing the dining room completely painted. I stopped on the stairs and sighed. I looked upstairs and grinned. Wrath wasn't the horrible creature he thought he was. I smiled and walked happily to my truck.

Wrath troublesome siblings

My sister Lust was bouncing around in my mind telling me to claim Patience. I told her that I'm not going to involve myself with a human and she asked why ever not. She's attracted to you brother and you can enjoy your time on earth with her and feed me in the process, she purred causing me to scowl more deeply. I'm not doing any favors for you sis, I responded firmly and she exits my mind. I watched Patience drive away in her awful truck and frowned. She really needed a better vehicle. I hear a ringing sound coming from downstairs. It's a telephone ringing, Pride says simply. I rolled my eyes knowing very well what it was, rushed downstairs to find it and answer it. I lift the receiver and say yeah.

"I'm bringing dinner home from the diner, anything particular you'd like," Patience asked curiously and I try to recall what I'd read from the menu.

"A patty melt with horseradish and fries," I say. She laughed and said she'd bring back a piece of pie for me too. I grinned and told her thanks and hung up. My heart was racing and I chewed on my bottom lip. I was attracted to her. I knew it but I also knew I'd hurt her and I liked her too much to cause her problems. Maybe you should have told her that, Gluttony sighed sadly in my brain. I growled and shook my head. I could hear my siblings discussing my lack of knowledge about relationships and frowned because it was all true. Technically speaking I was pretty tame when it came to female conquests, at least over the past five hundred years, having only been involved intimate with a few females eons ago. Why are you all trying to get me involved with a human virtue, please tell me, I snapped in my mind. Surprisingly my siblings went quiet. I rolled my eyes and went outside to the backyard. It was a beautiful place. I could see mountains in the distance and a thick forest. A river flowed behind her home. I could see what looked like another home in the distance. The chickens were following after me as I walked around the fence line and I wondered if Patience fed them or they took care of themselves. I spotted a bag of chicken feed that answered that question. I scooped up a bowl full and scattered it around. The chickens and ducks went to town gobbling it up. I smiled remembering when I had once been a human and farmed the land. Of course that was when the Roman's had conquered territories and were at the height of dominance. I rubbed my eyes realizing how ancient I truly was. If Patience ever tells me she's old I'm telling her how old I actually am, I tell myself. The summer sun was getting warmer so I headed back into the house and wandered around the entire thing. I found myself in a walk in attic and saw photos of Patience and a tall blonde haired man. I lifted it for a closer look and wondered if it was her husband or father. I turned it over and it said Patience and Jim, two year anniversary. I flipped it back to the photo and judged her husband. I guess he was alright. Patience hadn't changed much, she had a more mature look to her now. I walked around the room and saw an old rocking chair. I sat in it, looked out the tiny window and saw a small graveyard a little ways away. I furrowed my brow looking around me and thought about Patience.
