Chapter 14: So It Begins

March 1st, 2021

It's been 10 days since the start and we've been lucky because we haven't seen one of those monsters. We will eventually have to leave and find some food and more weapons to defend ourselves.

Clem-" Hey Y/N how are you?"

Y/N-" I'm getting kinda worried."

Clem-" Why do you say that?"

Y/N-" Well we don't have enough food for 43 people and this place isn't big enough to fit 43 people. We're eventually going to have to leave. We probably need to go east because everyone is going to want to go to the mountains."

Clem-" Wow I wouldn't have thought of that."

Y/N-" Really?"

Clem-" Yeah especially with moving east." She paused for a bit. "It's kinda sexy seeing this side of you."

Y/N-" Ooh."

Clem-" How do you know what to do?"

Y/N-" I don't know, it's just common sense to me."

Clem-" So when you asked how many weapons we had you just thought of it."

Y/N-" Yeah."

Clem-" And when you suggested we portion the food."

Y/N-" Same thing."

Clem-" I wish it was only us in this house."

Y/N-" Me too." I then kissed her.

I hated the fact that this was happening but I loved that Clem was with me through this.

Y/N-" I'm so happy you're here with me."

Clem-" I am too."

Lee-" What are you two doing?"

Clem-" Talking about how Y/N has been so smart with what's happening."

Lee-" What has he done?"

Clem-" Well that first night he thought of how many weapons we had. When he suggested that we portion the food. And he just thought of the idea of moving east if things get bad."

Lee-" Why wouldn't we want to go to the mountains?"

Y/N-" Because everyone is going to think of that there will be a lot of people heading up there. We need to go to areas with a smaller population."

Lee-" Good thinking."

Y/N-" But that's only if things get bad."

Lee-" I'll bring the idea up with the adults. I think they'll listen to me more."

Y/N-" Yeah I get it."

I looked over to Clem and she was looking at the wall.

Y/N-" Clem, are you okay?"

Clem-" Yeah I'm just thinking how my friends from Virginia are doing."

Y/N-" I never thought of them."

Clem-" Do you wanna know how I know them?"

Y/N-" Uh from school?"

Clem-" Yeah but not a public school. It was very private, not in a good way either."

Y/N-" What do you mean not good private?"

Clem-" I went to a school for troubled youth."

Clem-" When I was in 6th grade my real parents and I was driving into the woods to go camping and I was annoying my parents.
