I was putting my red lipstick on for the party. It was the first party I was ever invited to. I got the invitation last week. I looked at myself in the long black mirror in the corner of my room.

Black dress, red shoes, red lips, smoky eyeshadow. I have never seen myself like this.

The theme of the party was "Black and Red," well duh. But why do I care what I look like? Oh right, because first impressions are important.

I get into my black car and sit on my white leather seat. I start driving.
When I got there I had this thought like, "turn around Aubrey, turn around," but I kept going.

I'm sitting at the table during the party and I get thirsty. I go into the kitchen where they have food, snacks, beverages laid out. I pick up my beer and turn around to walk away.

"Bam!" I ran right into a man. A tall man with a black shirt and a black shiny leather jacket. His hair is gelled like Ryan Seacrest, and his eyes were blue.

"Uh, sorry" that's all he said, and then walk away. He didn't even look at me or my face. He had his head down the whole time until he started walking again. I guess he didn't want to run into anyone else. He must be shy, yet very mysterious.

He was sitting couch and looking out the window. Wait a minute! That man is the guy in my building! I walk over and sit beside him.
"Hey, I'm Aubrey," I said, trying to start a conversation.

"Um, hi I'm Shadow," he replied softly.

"I live in your building you know, Apartment 316," I said softly.

Then he turned to be and spoke a little clearer, "Come with me, please," he said sort of nervous. I followed him to an empty room. Long story short he asked me out and I said yes.
