Chapter 10 The Truth

I wake up in the hospital bed and remember everything.

I'm a mom! Oh the joy! I can't wait to meet her. I bet she is beautiful. I bet she looks like me.

"Morning sunshine." I look at the door to see Sean with a tray in his hands. "I got you breakfast" he adds shyly.

"Thanks!" I reply. "Can we talk?"

"Yea"

"Who was she?" I ask without hesitation.

"She?"

"Why. If you were scared about being a dad. Did you sleep with someone else?"

"Well. I went to the club that night because everything was just hitting me on how hard it was being a father is. And I got so scared."

He looks down at his hands.

"I went to the club to release what was angering me. Because I was scared of being my dad himself. I got drunk and I this girl came up to me and slid her arm down my chest. I thought it was you because my eyes were sorta closed. I promise."

"How'd you think it was me?"

"That's all on my mind all the time. You. The baby that was coming." He looks up at me. "I'm sorry Aub. I love you. And when you came in and saw us I realized it wasn't you. I drank so much and the last drink was so overpowering that I didn't realize myself."

"Please don't hate me. I kicked her out immediately. I don't even think of her let alone speak or see. You're all I want. And Ashley. I want to be apart of Ashley's life." Tears start streaming down his face. "I won't be like my dad. I promise."

"No Sean don't cry. I don't hate you. I just wanted to know how it happened." I reach over and grab his hands. "I love you."

He looks up at me and a grin, a very wide grin appears on his face. "Oh my Aub. Thank you! I love you. I love you. I love you so much." He then leans over and crashes his lips on mine.

"When can I leave." Then I smile wide. "When can I see Ashley!"

"You can leave tomorrow because your legs are currently weak. From um. Pushing a human out of yourself." He blushes embarrassed. "And I can go ask for Ashley now. If you'd like."

I smile wider and nod uncontrollably. He laughs.

"Ok. Just eat and I'll be back"

A few minutes later he comes back with Ashely in his arms.

"Ashley meet mommy" he speaks to her soothingly. Handing her to me gently.

She's beautiful. Her eyes are a crystal blue like my and she doesn't quite have hair yet just little tiny strands of brown.

I am whispering soothing words to her and cuddling and comforting her. Sean watching and cutting in at times.

"She's beautiful isn't she" he speaks quietly because Ashley is asleep.

"The most beautiful" I reply.

"You're a great mom."

"You're a great dad" his face lights up.

"I hope so. I'm not my dad that's for sure." He says, his voice filled with anger. Fists clenching.

"What's this all with your dad."

"Nothing" he clenches his teeth.

"Clearly nothing." He shakes his head. "Sean!"

"Let me put Ashley in the crib." He picks her up and places her in the crib beside my bed."

"Sean.."

"My dad was an abusive alcoholic. Ok!" He lashes out.

"Sean. I'm so sorry." I comply. Truthfully.

"What?"

"Why didn't you want to tell me?"

"It's a rough subject"

"Where is he now?" I ask

"Dead" he replies angry.

"Oh. Sorry?"

"Yea well. It's my fault."

"Huh?"

"I've said too much" he stands up.

"Sit down!" I scold him. Causing him to freeze. Look at me. And sit back down. "Explain everything to me. I'm your girlfriend and the mother of your child. So tell me" I lecture.

"My dad got really drunk one day. He came barging in my room. I had a pocket knife with me and charged it at him for self defense. I was 16."

"Sean. I'm so sorry!" I hug him.

"Wait what?" He sounds shocked. "You don't hate me because I killed him?"

"No. You meant well. It was only because you were too innocent to die. You thought fast and just did. It's okay. Things happen." I rub his back. "I'm here"

"Oh my god" he pulls back and crashes his lips into mine. "I love you so much"

"I love you too" I reply.

"I thought you would run. Think I'm a murder or something."

"Never" I kiss his cheek. "Ashley needs you. I need you" I comment.

"So this isn't so wrong after all"

"I guess not"

A/N: it's not over. Just ending the hook in the beginning. It didn't make sense so I tried to make it make sense a bit.

So Aubrey had Ashley!! And Sean's dad!! Oh my wowsa!!
