A week later...
You were walking to class as your bag was buzzing. You put your hand into your bag, feeling around until your hand came around your phone, you got it out and saw text messages. A list of them that you didn't bother answering.
Please talk to me, I haven't heard anything from you since you left so abruptly last weekend.
Please, talk to me. I'm getting worried.
They all were the same, five in total that you had not bothered answering. And they went from the burner phone to your actual phone. Which surprised you since he was so strict about having used the burner phone before.
He must be really worried? Or is just trying to cover his ass. You thought, as you shook your head, putting your phone back in your bag, continuing on your way to class.
--
It was Thursday evening, and the texts had been coming more in earnest. To the point where you turned off your notifications. You decided you would go to one of the many parties that were at the different dorms and fraternities and sororities that were on campus since it had been awhile. Plus after the week you had you needed to blow off some steam.
Grabbing your purse, you put your phone in it and your wallet. Going out of your dorm room and looking at one of the bulletin boards seeing where the big parties would be. Your eyes scanned the many flyers, spotting one announcing a party that was tonight at one of the fraternity dorms that was across campus.
--
After a quick walk across campus, you waited outside the fraternity house in line to get in, fishing for your wallet, and grabbing your phone seeing the screen pop up a notification, realizing you only turned off certain notification types. You looked at the screen and saw a text message.
I'm coming to your dorm since you haven't answered any of my texts. I'm worried about you y/n. It read, as you rolled your eyes, putting your phone back in your purse as you grabbed money from your wallet to pay the small entrance fee to get into the party.
Thank god I decided to come to the party instead of staying in. I would rather avoid having a fight right now. You thought, as you handed the person the $5 to get in and headed inside, immediately going to the drink table and grabbing one and milling about with other students, finally grateful about being around people your own age for once.
--
You got up from the couch on wobbly legs, groaning.
"Well I guess that's my own personal last call." you said to yourself out loud, as you made your way out of the fraternity house slowly, looking over towards the library.
God I wish I could get a coffee now. You thought, in hopes that caffeine would help you sober up as you went through your purse digging around for change, as your phone fell out of your purse and onto the ground.
"Ugh of course." you said as you bent down to pick it up, as the screen came on flashing a more recent text message that was sent to your own personal phone.
I'm here, where are you?
You rolled your eyes clicking off your phone and continued walking towards the library, knowing that the Starbucks inside would be closed but that there were vending machines along the side of the library.
You got some change and was looking through selections, picking out an ice coffee and some chips, bending over to pick them out.
"Had a feeling you might be here" a voice said from behind as you spun around in the dark, clutching at your chest, seeing that it was Paul standing behind you. And he was holding out his phone.
