Chapter 7

Lucas's POV: So it's been about 2 months since class started. I guess the new people got along well. Besides Adam, he's sketchy. But apart from that we're all friends by now. I get along of all of them but specially with Jake since I see him basically every day.
Jake and Rik both know they have a little crush for each other going on, they're talking, I guess.
Erika is eating now, thankfully, I went to her house once and she kinda opened up about it. I think we all have our scars. She was the type of girl that thought that the world was a beautiful place and that everyone liked her if she was a nice person, and then she figured out it wasn't like that..
Ryan has a crush on Danielle. I don't know what's up with her but she doesn't let people in. Anyways, I gotta talk to her later
Kailani is very unique. Her story is amazing. We went out to get some coffee one of these days and she told me about Hawaii and the culture, it's really different from what we know, it's very interesting tho.

Anyways!! Halloween was great! We had a big party, it was really fun. Then the next week was bleh. We had a game, we lost because we started arguing in the field. Coach was pissed, of course. I don't even know what happened to be honest.

Oh! Next weekend is Rik's birthday! Her little sister told me. But apparently Erika doesn't want to do anything, which I have to change

Lucas: Rik! - she turned around - Can I talk to you real quick?

Sunny: Rik?

Erika: Forget about it. Sure what's up?

Sunny: I'll see you guys later - she left

Lucas: Why you don't want to have a birthday party?

Erika: Who told you that?

Lucas: Dani

Erika: Ugh

Lucas: Rik, come on. You can trust me

Erika: Well you know how my ex kinda broke me bla bla

Lucas: Yeah..

Erika: He left the day before my birthday.. - she looked down and I hugged her

Lucas: If you really don't want to do it, I won't push you. But maybe you should. Things could change. You just have to trust me

Erika: Alright..

Lucas: Okay?? - I asked excited

Erika: Okay

Lucas: Yes! You won't regret it - she smiled and we went to class

The day went by fast. I was thinking about what to go for Rik's birthday since now she let me do a party. I was thinking about the guests, where would it be, what would we eat, I was planning the hole thing when the bell rang.

We left school. I went to pick up Toby and we went home. He was oddly quiet today

Lucas: Hey, what's wrong?

Toby: Nothing

Lucas: Right

Toby: This dude at school, he got pissed cause I scored a goal and started talking crap about me

Lucas: Is it true? What he says about you?

Toby: No

Lucas: Then who cares

Toby: Right..

Lucas: Toby, if you know exactly who you are, doesn't matter what other people say. It's not gonna change it. Even if they repeat it a million times. You know yourself better than anyone and that's what it counts.

Toby: Thanks bro..

Lucas: Let's eat?

Toby: Yeah

I made a quick pasta with basically everything that was in the fridge. We ate, we talked, he told me about school stuff and friends and all.

After lunch I washed the dishes and we were watching the NBA on the living room when Brian came in

Brian: Hey guys. What's up?

Toby/Lucas: Hey Brian

Brian: Who's winning?

Toby: The heats

Brian: Y'all ate?

Lucas: Yeah. There's past one the pan still if you want

Brian: Yeah thanks. I'm just gonna change

He went upstairs and a little bit later came back down. He put a plate on the microwave and then brought it to the living room. We were all talking and watching the game.

A while later my phone started receiving a lot of messages. Sunny said the girls are meeting at the mall, if I could be the driver. I texted her ok and went upstairs to get ready. I came back downstairs

Toby: Can you drop me off at Timmy's house?

Lucas: I don't know where that is

Toby: I'll show

Lucas: Then yeah sure. Come on. By Brian

Brian: Bye guys, be safe

We left. I took him to his friend house then went to pick up Dani first, then Sunny. Not gonna I got lost. I've never been to her house before. I finally found it tho.

I parked the car and texted her. She didn't see it. A while later I got off the car and went to the door. I knocked and heard yelling. Then she opened up crying.

Lucas: Dani are you-

Dani: I'm fine. Just a second - she went back inside and a few seconds was back - Let's go? -she started walking to the car. I went after her.

She was still wiping of the tears, I feel like she wanted to stop crying but she couldn't. She got in the car and then I did.
She took a deep breath and wiped her tears one more time. She looked at the street and then at me

Dani: Well? - I just looked at her - Are we going?

Lucas: Dani..

Dani: It's fine Lucas

Lucas: it's not fine..

Dani: Let's just go

Lucas: I'll go if you promise to explain me what happened m

Dani: Ok

Lucas: Ok what?

Dani: deal, I'll do that

Lucas: Alright - I started the car and drove away. It was silent for a bit

Lucas: Well?

Dani: So...
