the night went on and soon the boys left and all the kids went to sleep so y/n was just in her room by herself then kobe came home drunk and walked upstairs going to the room

Y: are you ok
Kobe: i need a blanket
Y: why we have one
Kobe: i'm sleeping downstairs
Y: why
Kobe: i have a friend over
Y: oh who is he
Kobe: she's a friend
Y: why'd you bring another girl in my house
Kobe: can you just tell me where i can get a fucking blanket y/n
Y: so you just forgot about us
Kobe: never mind i'll find my own blanket

kobe walked out and y/n let a tear fall down her face and she started crying then she pulled out her phone calling someone and once they came she got dressed and walked out getting in their car as they drove around in silence

Derek: so why'd you call me
Y: because you're the first person that came to mind
Derek: alright well what's wrong
Y: kobe came home drunk and was so angry for no reason then he brought another girl home without even letting me know it's like he just forgot we were even a thing
Derek: i'm sorry y/n
Y: it's ok maybe i'm just not worth it
Derek: don't say that you can't force someone to love you y/n if kobe wants to walk out of your life then let him at the end of the day all you can do is continue being the best version of yourself
Y: it's just a month ago he was saying how much he loved me now he's hanging with someone else maybe happiness just isn't for me
Derek: maybe you're looking for happiness in all the wrong places
Y: what do you mean by that
Derek: you have no idea how many guys want a chance with you but you can't see that because all you want is a guy who isn't going to treat you right kobe has been my best friend for years so believe me when i say he isn't going to change no matter how hard you try he's going to stay loyal for a while as long as he possibly can then when he gets tired of it or just doesn't feel like it no more he's going to switch up and go back to the same old him
Y: ugh i hate love it never works for me
Derek: well that doesn't mean you didn't try
Y: i regret trying
Derek: if you never do anything else in life at least live with no regrets remember that and you'll be just fine
Y: you're right derek thank you
Derek: no problem y/n

derek and y/n continued riding around town and talking even singing songs then it started getting late so derek drove y/n home and she thanked him then placed her hand on the door handle but he gently said her name and she turned her head to face him then he just looked at her before placing his hand on her face then after he hesitated he leaned forward kissing her for a second she kissed back until she moved away from him

Y: i'm so sorry you're with kenzie i should've never kissed you back she's my best friend and she's like a sister to me i'm sorry derek

y/n opened the door and derek grabbed her trying to get her to stay but she pulled away and said sorry again before closing the door and walking inside her house

Derek: ugh i fucked up

derek laid his head on the steering wheel before starting the car up and driving off while y/n was in her room with music gently playing looking at her ceiling then she got up and walked to the balcony looking at the moon

Corey: one of those nights huh
Y: yup how'd you get in here though
Corey: i never got rid of the key i had
Y: oh how's cat
Corey: she's good we got baby number one on the way so i'm excited
Y: aww that's so cute
Corey: so what's bothering you
Y: if i tell you can you promise to keep it between me and you
Corey: do you know who you're talking to
Y: you're right you won't tell anyone anyways
Corey: exactly now what's wrong
Y: i kissed derek
Corey: oh wow i did not expect that
Y: well he kissed me but i kissed back i don't know why though i was just upset and i was about to get out of his car and come inside but he called my name and i got lost in the moment and i regret it so much i don't know how i'm gonna tell kenzie she's going to hate me
Corey: or maybe she'll understand after all it was just a kiss
Y: but i kissed her fiancé corey
Corey: if she's really your friend she'll at least try and understand where you're coming from even if she does hate you for the rest of her life at least you'll know you did the right thing by telling her
Y: ugh i feel like such a bad friend
Corey: it'll be ok

corey hugged y/n and they stayed like that for a while then she pulled away and they went back inside talking and watching movies even playing games together then they both fell asleep in random spots in the room when they woke up they went downstairs seeing everyone else and corey gently nudged y/n

Ida: oop is the ship back
Y: no
Corey: nope i'm married
Y: exactly but i need to tell kenzie something in private
Kenzie: girl no just say it in front of everyone
Y: please

Y: i kissed derek last night

Derek: i'm sorry babe
Y: it was a mistake kenzie i'm so sorry
Kenzie: well since we're telling secrets that day kobe had those hickies all over his neck and you called off the wedding they were from me yup me and kobe were having an affair for months behind your back
