it's been a year since everything happened y/n has officially cut kenzie and ida off and haven't talked to them since they did what they did not only that but all the slick shit they do and say behind her back mikes back with davine turns out the baby was his he just let his insecurities get to him the boys found girlfriends they come over whenever they're not hating y/n for being their best friend clinton was pretty sad that mathew got a girl but he ended up finding somebody who eventually left him so he just stayed single derek and jano finally broke up with ida and kenzie but when jano did ida got full custody of the kids and said he was guess what mentally incompetent and had "papers" which made jano pretty pissed y/n dropped the restraining order and gave kobe his full custody back so now vanessa still talks to her again her mom doesn't speak to her still which didn't bother her but her dad sadly passed away and today was actually the day of the funeral so y/n put on some black joggers and a hoodie with her hair in a messy bun and the hood halfway on her head and kobe walked in her room knocking on the door and she let him come in once he did the twins ran in with leilani and king

Kobe: you ready
Y: ready as i'll ever be

kobe grabbed y/ns hand and they walked out buckling the kids in the car then getting in themselves after that they drove off until they made it and they all got out the car going inside the funeral went by normally until it was time to view the body so they walked up there one by one once it was y/ns turn she walked up there and once she saw she walked out and sat on the steps breaking down she was crying and kobe came out with king right next to him and they both hugged her and she hugged them back she hugged king more though because he was also crying king loved his grand dad since that was his only one

King: why did he have to die
Y: i know it sucks and i miss him too so very much and it sucks that we'll never see him again but it was just his time we just gotta pray that he's in a better place now ok
King: ok

y/n hugged king tighter and kissed his head while kobe walked back inside

King: why does it hurt
Y: that's something you have to ask yourself what makes your grand dad so special to you that losing him hurts
King: when we were at grandmas house sometimes she wouldn't watch us so grandpa did and he always played with us and made us laugh and he bought us candy and food he was my favorite i'm gonna miss him
Y: you know everything you just listed
King: yea
Y: that's what you hang onto all the bad memories push them deep deep down and only focus on the fun times y'all had the laughs the giggles those are the only things that count ok

y/n straightened her face and wiped her tears trying to be strong for king and she just kept talking to him trying to make him smile or something after the funeral they had the burial then they had the awakening and king ran off playing with his cousins like the others while y/n sat down at one of the tables with her head on it finally letting the tears flow then kobe came to her rubbing her back

Kobe: let it out let it all out i know it hurts cry as much as you want
Y: it hurts so bad
Kobe: we'll never be able to say something that's gonna make it any better but just know we're here for you no ones asking you to be strong if you wanna cry let it out he was your father after all
Y: i promised him he was gonna be ok i said as long as i paid for his treatments he was gonna be ok i let him down i let everyone down no wonder he hated me
Kobe: he didn't hate you y/n he loved you and you know that don't let his death change the way he truly felt
Y: i'll never know how he truly felt because he's gone kobe and he's never coming back
Kobe: when your mom said she hated you not once did he agree or shake his head he didn't say anything because he didn't want to be in the middle of it nothing other than that i can tell you from a fathers point of view that when you see your child for the first time the first thing that comes to your mind isn't hate all you want to do is protect them and when they make a special part on your heart all you can do is love them and watch them grow up and smile there might be days where you just wanna throw them in a mcdonald's dumpster and run the other way but i can assure you he doesn't and never did hate you and he would be more than proud to see how far you've come you're an amazing person and an amazing mom and you're an even better friend and daughter and he knew that he saw that you just gotta believe it yourself like i said don't let his death be the reason you start questioning his love for you

kobe hugged her then he rested his head on her back until he heard yelling so he turned around and saw the kids running from a duck that was chasing them

Kobe: i'll be back will you be alright
Y: yea

kobe ran off to the kids and while y/n was sitting there calming herself down her mom walked up to her sitting down in the seat next to her
