Chapter 2- The Mysterious Girl

Aang walked home thinking about the beautiful, mysterious girl he saw in the library.

"Welcome back home Aang! How was your day?" asked Gyatso as soon as Aang opened the door.

"Hi, Gyatso. It was actually really nice. I think I'm going to enjoy going to Republic High."

Aang ate dinner and went to bed thinking "Tomorrow, I am going to find out who that girl is.

The next morning Aang shot out of bed, got ready, and headed to school.

"Hey, guys!" Aang said to his friends as he went into the school.

"Hey, Twinkletoes," Toph said.

The day went by pretty fast for Aang. And soon, he was in his last class science. Zuko and Haru were also in science class with Aang.

"Now class, I want you to work on this project with a partner. It will be due on Friday which a week from now," said Hama, the science teacher. 

"Haru, you will be partnered up with On Ji. Koko, you will be working with Jinju. Hide, you will be working with Zuko. Aang, you will be working with..." Hama trailed off her words. "Katara," said Hama. As soon as Hama said he would be partnered up with Katara he got into his thoughts. Katara? Who's Katara? questioned Aang in his thoughts. Aang instantly remembered when Haru said that the person who had the highest grades in Republic High was a girl named Katara. Katara! The girl with the highest grades in Republic High! I'll be able to know who is this Katara girl. 

"Aang, you okay bud?" said a voice. Aang snapped out of his thoughts to see no one in the science room but him, Zuko, and Haru. 

"Are you okay?" asked Zuko.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Aang replied.

"Okay, see ya Aang!" said Haru. 

"Alright, I'm gonna work with this Katara girl," said Aang.

"Woah whoah whoah there buddy, nobody in this school has ever seen this girl...except maybe the teachers, but if this girl has kept low in Republic High for this long, I doubt that she'll want to work with you. Haru said crossing his arms. "Sorry, Aang but I think you're gonna have to face the fact you're gonna have to do this project alone," said Zuko.

"Yeah, you two are right. Well, I better get going," said Aang and went to his locker. The school was empty. You couldn't hear anything except for the sound of Aang walking in the hallways. Aang opened his locker and a piece of paper fell out. Aang picked it up and read it. It said 

Meet me in the park a few minutes away from the school to work on the project.

Aang POV

I wonder why she had to write me a note and make me walk to the park. She's probably just shy I guess. I shouldn't pay too much attention to this. I walk to the park wondering what she looks like, or why she likes to keep herself hidden. I see the park in sight and wait for her to show up. While I'm waiting, I take out my phone and search up the name Katara Rivers to see her on social media. Turns out, she doesn't have an Instagram or Facebook account. There's nothing to her. I then see a news article that was posted 7 years ago. It was about this couple who were the most dangerous criminals in the world and how they were finally arrested 7 years ago. Good riddance that they were arrested. That couple was the two people who killed my parents. It's the reason why me and my guardian, Gyatso moved to Republic City. But something on the news article caught my eye. It said that they had a daughter? But she ran away before the police could get her to the police station.
